The offer is valid from 6-7-2021 to 9-10-2021 and only to the first 50,000 people. They don't give you the discount right at the cash register... they give you a $20 credit at some point in the future *if* you are the first 50,000. So it's impossible to know if you are going to get the $20 or not. Back when they had the $10 back on a $20 transaction, I had to contact the Better Business Bureau to get the $10 from PayPal. I advise you to steer clear of this one; PayPal doesn't have the best reputation at fulfilling promotions like this.

Did this yesterday, but tried to do it earlier in the week but the CVS employee had no idea how to scan the PayPal QR code so it really kinda depends on how well trained the employee is.

Ended up getting a $30 Amazon GC for $10.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank eber

I just did this successfully in-store with back to back separate transactions for 2x $25 Amazon gift cards.

Seems like the cashiers still may not be trained on how to complete a PayPal or Venmo payment.

The last time I did this (December 2020), the cashiers needed to go to "Other Payments" and then "Digital Payments", and then scan your phone.

Also, the last time around self-checkout did not work, so you may still have to go to a cashier.

This time around it's much simpler. They should have a red button labeled "PayPal / Venmo / *some other payment I don't remember*" on their main page. They just select that then scan your phone.

I immediately received receipts for payments of $5 to PayPal and $5 to Venmo for the $25 gift cards.

This worked great for me. I bought Amazon gift cards and got $20 once with PayPal and once again using Venmo. These PayPal deals have been awesome (e.g., B&H Photo, Target)!

You can buy gift cards at the kiosk without the assistance of a cashier.
Tried a few times at the kiosk and it didn't work. Used wife's PayPal as well and no luck. Gift cards might be location specific? Or maybe I had to use a specific type of PayPal payment.

I was able to get $50 of GC in two transactions, but no bonus $10 cashback. However, I still see $10 off $20 in Paypal's Deals section + in Venmo's Offers section as well. Worth it to go back and try buying two more?

I tried several times on the Kiosk until the manager got suspicious. Good thing another cashier told me that he can try it at regular checkout. Thank you Venmo and PayPal. They both worked! Thanks for the heads up OP!

Just got back.

First CVS denied purchases of gift cards with Paypal/Venmo. They said the system will not allow it..

Second CVS, it worked without any problems. I did two separate transactions for two $25 Amazon gift cards. Just let them know you are paying with Paypal/Venmo and let them scan your QR codes.

The email receipts showed they charged me $5 for each gift card and the Paypal $10 cashback email came 2 minutes later. Quick and easy.

Wasn't able to buy gift cards. Tried two CVS stores and had no luck. Ended up buying random items. Hopefully, get the $20 back, otherwise, I just wasted money on crap I could probably do without.
I got two $25 Amazon gift cards in separate purchases and received the $20 credit back for each. Also got another $10 credit from PayPal that I'm confused about...

cvs prices are 1.5 times even after 40% off. check local grocery store or amazon
It works on Amazon Gift Cards Smilie

So to get this understand correctly - when paying the $25 Amzn GC at the store with the PayPal, I would only be paying $5 out of pocket at the checkout, correct?
Correct. Make sure the cashier does checkout with PayPal or something like that.

I just got back from CVS in CT. Here are the results:
  • Paypal: I got $10 credit immediately after purchasing a $25 target gift card.
  • Vemno (debit): I purchased a $25 hulu gift card but have no gotten any "rebate"
I'll edit this post if I do get something!
It worked on Amazon gift cards for me. Hopefully your venmo one goes through. Mine sent me a notification about 5 minutes after the purchase.
