The offer is valid from 6-7-2021 to 9-10-2021 and only to the first 50,000 people. They don't give you the discount right at the cash register... they give you a $20 credit at some point in the future *if* you are the first 50,000. So it's impossible to know if you are going to get the $20 or not. Back when they had the $10 back on a $20 transaction, I had to contact the Better Business Bureau to get the $10 from PayPal. I advise you to steer clear of this one; PayPal doesn't have the best reputation at fulfilling promotions like this.
Worked for me on a $25 Amazon GC which I'll give to Jeff Bezos for Christmas because, you know, the f'er needs the money. $20 rebate which was applied to the CVS payment and then a $10 credit. All within a few minutes. Thanks for the post!
My CVS had a big sign on the Gift Card Rack that said something like "No Apple Pay, No Google Pay, and No Other Electronic Payments can be used to purchase gift cards. Can ONLY use CASH or CREDIT CARDS to by gift cards."
I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try. Since they have self-checkout at my store.
Got 2 Amazon ($25-$500) gift cards.
Went to self-checkout.
Scanned the first gift card. It then said "enter the amount of the gift card" on the screen. I entered $25. Then pressed "continue to payment" or something like that. Then scanned my phone with the PayPal app with the "show to pay" barcode. It worked.
Then did it again with Venmo, same steps.
On my PayPal activity, it shows Paid $0 to CVS, and have a $10 PayPal Balance.
On my Venmo activity, it shows Paid $5 to CVS.
And have two free activated $25 gift cards in my hand, and a $5 money maker.
PP worked for me. I bought a 25$ GC and got charged 5$. Venmo - i had a 10 off 20 offer but when i paid i got charged full 25$. For Venmo was it on cash balance or something? I paid with my Visa card.
Gift Cards can't be activated at the self-service kiosk and paid with QR.
Yes you can. I just did it at a self-service kiosk.
I even got the cards with the $25-$500 range. Because they didn't have $25 cards. And the kiosk allowed me to enter the amount I wanted on the gift card, and entered $25. Then scanned bar code on phone.
The receipt printed and said CARD ACTIVATED.

I got $20 and $10 cash back from PayPal instantly but did not get $20 from Venmo. I had used similar CVS+Venmo offer last year so not sure if that has anything to do with not getting the Venmo $20 credit
Just got back from CVS. Saved the offer to my Paypal and my Venmo by scanning the QR code.
I purchased two $25 Amazon GCs in separate transactions, paying for one with PayPal and one with Venmo.
If cashier is unaware of how to use this tender type, have them scan the gift cards and go to final checkout, and a payment button of "Paypal/Venmo/Alipay" will show. They will then scan your "Show to pay" QR code, and the transaction will process, with you receiving confirmation on your phone showing the full $25 amount. When it does process, then your in store receipt will print. You will then see the $20 off in your transaction history on Paypal and Venmo.
I also had a $10 off $20 offer at CVS from Paypal but there was no way to "save" that offer. I did not receive a $10 credit like others have gotten.
I did the same and did not receive $10 like you. Maybe should have done first gift card $40 then it would have done total $20 transaction with other $20 discount. But by the time I realized that, it was too late.
I tried and it did not let me pay with venmo or paypal at self checkout. Then I went to the cashier. It had button for that and let me scan the code but would fail to process.
Even cashier was clueless about I can pay with venmo or paypal but hey it worked.

Is that what CVS employees told you? It's not true.
$15-$500 variable load AZ is the way to roll on this deal. (If you can find 'em.) Free $20. Don't go nuts with the ebay GCs since they have a 4 GC limit per tx now. As others have mentioned, if you did the $10/$20 before, you won't get that again. Also, I hope this is obvious, but you'll need data on your phone. And there's like a 5 minute time out on any payment QR you generate, so if you're in a long line, don't generate that QR until you're right at the cashier.

Bought 2 $25 Amazon gift cards. Used Venmo and PayPal at register. Both transactions trigger coupon on the spot. Walked out only paying $10 total. I had previously (about 1-2 weeks ago) used the $10 off $20 coupon for both Venmo and PayPal at as well.

You have to log into your PayPal account on a regular Computer. Then you will see the wallet and the $20 CVS offer in the wallet.
