Just grabbed the last few of the Bosch Freak GDX18V-1800C Impact Driver/Wrench at the Lowe's near me.

These come with the CORE 18v 4ah battery,, charger,, bag,, etc.. the battery is worth it itself. I've switch over many of my tools to Bosch since they upgraded their batteries.

I've seen mixed reviews on this driver, and I've beaten my oldest one to death over the past few months... and it's far better than my Dewalt XR and only slightly less powerful than my Japanese Makita (the red one). But it's overall the best driver I've used in years as it allows me to use 1/4" hex Impact bits, or 1/2" Impact sockets without an adapter.

So far, I've used it for simple tasks, all the way to slamming 8" ⅜" lags into hardwood and its been great. I did lugs on my truck, but it was at its max peak power and definitely wouldn't replace my HD Impact wrench, but it's comparable to my 3/8" Impact xr from dewalt... and the Hog Ring on the Bosch is much better.

so if you can find one in your local LOWES, get on it. and if you are yet to try Bosch new platform, this will get you started. And now that their batteries have gone from worst to best, it's a $60 entry into the platform.

Hopefully someone could do the Brickseek thing for me, as I'm not sure how to use that.

Good luck!!

Edit: Just seen the Store north of me has this kit for $49.67 So I'm heading there now. Smilie Guess what I'm giving everyone for Christmas.

Crap, just bought a Dewalt XR impact driver from Lowe's. The unopened package is waiting for me when I get home.

Makes me feel a little bit better that the closest store with stock at $53 is almost 2 hours away.

This is amazing it can do lug nuts and impact bits. Wish there was some available near me. I'd buy it even if I am not on Bosch batteries yet.

I used the Dewalt XR (dcf887) for years, and then went to the Japanese (Red) Makita... but I now use this a lot more...

It's worth the 2hr drive if you as me lol. Or maybe go to your local store just to see if there are any there that's not listed online. I'm pretty much switching all my (non-imported) tools to Bosch now except for a few tools from other brands that are supreme versions (like Dewalt's DCS355 Oscillating tool, etc).

Edit... it's not "great" at Lug nuts, but it can do them in a pinch.

This is actually $49.67 at dozens of stores. Should I post it? Wink
