Significant fire risk. Especially not this particular power strip.
I wouldn't do so even with very low amperage/power draws.
In general use around the house, the only thing that I could think that this would genuinely be useful for would be powering LED Christmas tree lights, radios, usb chargers and other low power appliances. The plastic casing on this brand of power strip is a great insulator for heat and this power strip will overheat fast if you put any significant load on it.
The item description details are saying that you can run 1875 watts on this 14 gauge power strip, and while 14 gauge is technically rated to carry a max of 15 amps (1875watts is 15.6amps) attempting to do so with this power strip would just be insane. You might as well just start throwing lit cigarettes around your house.

You're right about the protection, lower end of joules. Even higher joule protectors fail regularly, and they never honor their warranty to replace your electronics. I need more outlets based on existing outlet locations near my electronics. For that purpose, it's a great deal.
LMAO! Exaggerated hype will fool some, but false hope in essence. I would as soon use a generic strip for less cost since all you really get here is extra outlets.
Short solve: hire an electrician.
