Seems like a pretty solid deal for a 15 inch laptop in the price range and none of the usual weaknesses. Usually either the screen or no USB-C PD are a fatal flaw but this seems to have everything you'd want for a mid-tier laptop.

+ Metal build (either lid or whole body)
+ FHD IPS 300nits
+ USB C Power delivery
+ Touchscreen
+ Backlit Keyboard
+ Fingerprint reader
+ 16gb ram
+ 512gb ssd
+ 3.8lbs (reasonable for size)

Features:
11th Gen Intel® Core i5-1135G7 Processor
15.6" Touchscreen IPS LCD with LED-Backlit Anti-Glare FHD (1920 x 1080) 300-Nits Display

Its 250 but that's fine for 90% of people. Also, this deal is out of stock unfortunately

Looked at that HP - It also has the silver keyboard/lettering issue with legibility that can be very annoying

And battery design issues leaving you with a brick after a year of use.

Just purchased via BandHphoto with payBoo! Was able to snag a "10" used one! Sounds like a great machine for the money.

I have an HP Envy x360 which I never even used to the full rotation and the hinge broke on it. It is apparently a widely known issue with HP (that they still did not fix after the 2016 lawsuit), so I was looking to some other brands as a replacement. I will never buy another HP. Guess Lenovo has the same problem though. Wonder if there are any reasonably priced ones out there that do not have this issue?

I have the Ryzen 5700U version, everything else is identical. It's a well-built laptop for the money, metal all around. The Ryzen version performs better, and I suspect this Intel version will run a bit hotter and louder. One downside is that the only power charging port is the USB-C, so you can't use it for anything else (e.g., if you want an additional external display beside the HDMI) without a dock. On the prior generation, there was a barrel-type charger, so that kept the USB-C port free. Display is so-so, but a little bit brighter than the 250 nits you often get at this price, and nice that it's matte despite having touch (pretty unusual).

Tip: If you use this mainly as a desktop (which most users will given the size), then set the battery to "conservation mode" in the Lenovo Vantage app. This will keep the battery between 55 and 60% and greatly reduce battery degradation, compared with keeping it at 100% all the time. Even 60% is enough for about 5 hours of real-world use on my Ryzen 5700U version.

Are the hinge issues for this Lenovo or the HP that has also been discussed here?

N/M, I saw the reviews on this Lenovo talking about hinge problems, thanks for the heads up. Too bad, this pretty much is what I was looking for.

very solid deal!! except the hinge Frown. just read pages and pages on the lenovo forum. seems like lenovo is finally starting to fix this issue for free (after being told no by customer support and then escalating to forum staff) but it also sounds like it's inevitable and you'll be without a laptop for a week.
I need a laptop for my kid to use both in school and as a DAW and I haven't found anything comparable in price/features to this one.

I bought the hp with the 5500u. The build quality is junk and the fan constantly spins. It is so much worse overall than my Lenovo flex 5 14. I assume this laptop is similar in build to the flex.
