It's different. It has a controller similar to pellet grills but it burns charcoal instead of pellets.

I have the smaller masterbuilt and love it! I have many Traegers and it is similar. Negatives about the Masterbuilt is the error code that pops up occasionally and you have to look it up to see what it means and the cord is kinda cheap. Get bigger if you can.

Similar to Traeger. Cheaper build quality though, but keeps temps pretty close to what you set it at. Bluetooth capabilities if you are close to the grill and wifi if close to router.

sold my traeger after getting a 560 (smaller version of this). there simply is no replacement for charcoal when it comes to flavor. these seem to always be on clearance at select walmart's all over the country but clearly YMMV.
