Premium members only. Select books on sale for as low as $5. Sale ends 9/17. I will say the highest price I've seen so far is $7.

Let me start off by saying, the Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss is my favorite series. Let me caution any one wanting to read these books... It's been a decade since the 2nd book, The Wise Man's Fear, dropped. There is no ETA on the 3rd and final book. Just a heads up if you are wanting a complete story, this is a bad choice. That being said, Patrick's world building and story telling is excellent and I'd highly recommend his work.
I highly recommend Theft of Swords by Michael J Sullivan. I got the three books in this trilogy in a similar sale and was hooked. I've listened to them all multiple times, as well as the books in his other series.
Third book....is probably never coming out

My heart absolutely shatters every time someone mentions these books. They are far and away my favorite books I've ever read. I would seriously give away all the organs I don't need to stay alive to get the next book in my hands. I'm not kidding.

So, uh, any recommendations for books that aren't part of a series and don't have wizards in them?
If you're okay with Sci-fi Fantasy genre, then check out Brandon Sanderson. The Emperor's Soul is a good book, not part of a series. He also has quite a few different series that are complete and excellent reads, like Mistborn, Warbreaker, Elantris. He also has The Stormlight Archive series, which he has completed 4 out of 10 books, plus two novellas.

First two books were amazing. Those books really got me back into reading book again. Unfortunately I'm afraid the 3rd book could be delayed forever as he has too many other projects going on now.

I always wanna check out storm light archive but I'm so afraid to read any series that's not complete. I tend to kill them personally. Kingkiller, ASOIAF, and the Dresden books were releasing fairly regularly before I started them. Each time I did the series died (Dresden picked back up but he took a several year break lol).

Basically following his good friends G.R.R's example, Patrick Rothfuss is holding the 3rd book hostage until he can get a TV deal out of this series. The show rights has been picked up by Lin-Manuel Miranda (of Hamilton fame) who's been trying to get a major network to pick it up. As for the developmental front, Lin-Manuel Miranda's last update was "still a code that's waiting to be cracked". I'm sure he's having issues with all the book's difficult musical numbers.. I do hope they do a good job bringing them to the show.. The real question is if Rothfuss would release the 3rd book once the show starts or wait until the show catches up to the 3rd book.. I'm thinking another 3-5 more years till the 3rd book .. Frown

Name of the Wind is one of THE best audiobooks I've ever listened to. Sadly, I've given up on the last book, but this is totally worth $5
