Yes, members of the QA team like myself do check deals to see if they are still live. This particular deal is a B&M (brick and mortar aka in-store) YMMV (your mileage may vary aka not all stores will have this price) deal so we can't actually check it. It usually sticks around in hot deals for a couple weeks since the deal might be available in some areas for awhile. I hope that helps
FWIW, I noticed in the Athens store that they had 'Gorilla' brand ladders in stock. I've seen before when H.D. switches vendors for a particular category of item that they'll clearance out the old vendors stuff. That's probably what's happened here, I would guess.

All 3 were hiding next to the saw covered in saw dust. Scan it at checkout and it was $32.06. Thanks!
My store is Brea, CA.
Often it also alerts the workforce about pricing errors, etc.
The first rule of Slickdeals is Do Not Call.
The second rule of Slickdeals is DO NOT CALL.
What are the odds that the home depot employee you talk to both:
1. needs a ladder
2. hasn't already seen it (since its not like a "it rings up at $32 even though the sign says $99" situation).
Like, I might buy it because I just moved into a new place where one would be useful, but if I already had a ladder and saw this deal in a store, I'd be like "wow, cheap ladder" and keep walking. Unless you abuse them, a good fiberglass ladder should last a very very long time so most people don't need to upgrade. And a ladder is kind of an annoying item to flip for a profit (and the going rate for a 6' on craigslist around here looks to be about 50-60).
Do not call is really more about price mistakes and crazy deals on hot items.

And my HD never puts things on clearance. I pull them off whatever dusty shelf and they ring up at whatever BS says.
Taking the shortcut of calling is spitting in the face of this community. It ensures no one after you gets in on the deal. Maybe they put one on hold for you and buy the rest. Maybe they just say they don't have any and keep them all. It's selfish, counterproductive and detrimental to everyone else here that lives in your community.
Stop doing it and justifying crappy behavior with nonsensical justifications.
