Alpha 2
-Great QLED Screen
-No USB Charging
-No Pen
-No 15" option
-2 in 1
-Heavier with great build quality
-Great value on sale
Pro 360
-SAMOLED - Touchscreen
-USB-C Charging
-Most feature packed
-2 in 1
-Included Pen
-Most Expensive
Pro
-AMOLED - NO Touchscreen
-USB-C Charging
-Clamshell
-Lightest, relatively speaking
-Great value if you need USB-C Charging

For me, the Pro is the best option with USB C charging (charge and send signal to monitor at the same time) that isn't more expensive because it is clamshell only. For me, I don't need another tablet / stylus device. The biggest downsides of the Pro seem to be poor audio and a chassis that flexes on the 15" model. I've heard the 13" seems more firm.

Just made a uniday account using my edu email. Does samsung or uniday ever come back and ask for more info from you? I'm already out of school.

edit: under my profile, it says i am verified until 9/19/2022. hmm...

You can upgrade to i7 to get 16gb ram. It is as easy as clicking a button but gotta pay more. I'm glad samsung is giving people the 8gb option for less money.

The 360 models rival $1000 laptops, but not the non-360. They should be ashamed of themselves for calling the non-360 "Pro", I tried it in person and haven't touched a laptop with such a cheap plastic chassis since the HP Pavilion I had in 2012. I know I sound dramatic but I was appalled lmao like if the ion and the alphas have metal bodies who was your target for a $1200 laptop with the body of your $300 competitors?
What a ridiculous thing to exaggerate lol. I own the alpha 2 and have had the opportunity to use the pro as well, and while I agree the alpha 2 is better built, by no means is the pro some sort of awfully built $300 looking machine. Also speaking from having owned several "well" built laptops with aluminum chasis, they retain significantly more heat which can be extremely uncomfortable to use, especially Intel variants. I don't think I'd have payed $1200 for this laptop, but $600 for these modern specs, extremely lightweight, and amazing display is a great deal. The qled 2-in-1 alpha 2 I got with I7 / 16GB ram / 512GB storage for $750 was an awesome price too. I can't recommend it enough for people who want a laptop of this type, even if they don't need a 2-in-1

The book pro DOES have a metal body. However, it is magnesium alloy instead of aluminum which is why it is so light. Magnesium alloy is also what the LG Gram series are usually made of (at least the ones from 2 years ago, not sure about now). Magnesium alloy is strong (LG Gram claims it is military grade anti shock), but it does flex so people mistake it for plastic. However, it is stronger and lighter than plastic. When people hold an LG Gram some people think it has subpar build quality because it feels so light like as if it is "hollow", and the screen flexes. I suspect that's what you are experiencing with the Book pro.

If this had a touchscreen it would be perfect for my daughter. The 360 is nice too, but it doesn't have a usb-a port. I don't know if she will always have an adapter ready.

Update! Since a few days ago, Samsung has changed their policy. You CAN NO LONGER ask to return shipped item and they will offer 10% to keep the item. They have now decreased it to 5%. You may be able to still request 10% if you claim that you have a documented ticket of a samsung rep telling you of the 10% before on the order you are calling in for. But otherwise, you are now limited to 5%.

Ordered alpha 2 on Aug 31st, was expected delivery of 21st Sept, shows 28th now. Chatted twice , first was told will receive by 28th, yesterday second rep said will receive by original expected date of 21st. Not offered 10% discount both times.
Have anyone figured out how many days do they have timer for cancellation ? is it a month ?
Mine has also been pushed to the 28th, but my delivery was originally the 14th. Funny thing is every time they send and update it says "expected to arrive by original scheduled date", yet it is after the original date.

Just to clarify, I recognize that the weight and configurations alone make this comparable to the LG gram and I do not think it's worth $300, I am saying that it feels like the build quality of a $300 laptop. I have since found that it is a weaker spec aluminum than the 360 so I'm sure it's durable enough for the average consumer, I just expect something that feels more reassuring at this price point
