Not necessary. Game is Beautiful and there's HDR support. One of the most immersive games I've ever played. Best cowboy simulator out there
Correct, but it could immensely benefit from a framerate boost to 60fps like some other previous gen games have received. I hope they make it happen.

This game is free on Xbox Game Pass just so you know for those of you who have the game pass subscription.
I think they actually removed the single player game and only left the online portion.

Oh then don't bother playing this. You'll probably rage quit when you get to the women's suffrage mission and they make you drive the wagon to their protest where the dude can't stand up to his fat cousins to protect his love lol.
He might get annoyed with the mission that has you kill those guys covered in white sheets too

FWIW I finished both RDR1 and RDR2 all the way through-- and found 2 much more of a slog... just seemed like a lot more stuff required wasting time or crappy interface/interaction.... the campfire crafting system for example where you could only make 1 thing at a time was outright painful. Even horse control seemed worse though I'd have to go back and replay some of RDR1 to tell you why exactly.

2 was certainly a good looking game (played on a PC at 4k/ultra)- but still somehow failed to offer anything as jaw dropping as the bit in 1 where you enter Mexico for the first time with the music and all... And while rockstar games never exactly have you playing a genius, and the main story tends to be pretty on rails- it kinda felt like you had to be intentionally even dumber a character here to make the story work.

yeah, it's pretty, but good god it's boring as all hell. maybe someday i'll get back at it.
I felt the same.
But picked up later to play again.
It's a lot more fun to play once you make it last 2nd episode and get hang of story/gameplay. Trust me.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually again… I did the same thing with God of War. I wasn't happy with the style change from the old games, it felt unbelievably slow for a God of War game, enemies were few and far between, and good god that kid was so god damn annoying. I picked it up again later, got crazy OP in no time and ripped through it. Then got pretty annoyed by the BS ending and still locked areas in the fast travel system 😉

Only RDR Online was, and it was removed September 15th. I managed to finish it on Game Pass before it was removed the first time, great game, waiting for the Ultimate Edition to this this price (or less) on PC. Being as I've already finished it, I'm in no rush.

I have to admit, because of this thread I decided to give RDR2 another go, it definitely still has its annoyances but it wasn't as bad as I remember. The feeding your horse/self, searching drawers, etc is still painful but I did play for about 4 hours last night without getting bored. For $20 it's worth it for the graphics, huge map to explore and main storyline. Never played online so I can't comment on that.

Rockstar makes games so complex sometimes I just give up. GTA IV was fun but GTA V, I got really irritated. It had this one mission where I had to win the race and I'm not a racing game fan and obviously I kept failing the mission after several attempts. I simply gave up and uninstalled the game. I realized RDR2 might also have similar quirks like that and never bothered to play it. It was on my game pass, but I didn't play it. Their game is so massive, it takes forever to finish them. I like games that are not too short and not too complex and make you grind for stuff.

If I have to go from one side of the map to the other in RDR2 forget it I'm using fast travel (or stagecoach) lol it takes forever

Wonder if psn will match. want a digital copy

would prefer digital copy as well, one of those games that I would keep long term. I played through it on xbox. I played through in on ps5 till about chapter 6 and sold the ps5 for profit. Wouldnt mind playing it again though.
