Bought the slim and pro 2020 pkg as I received a free BMW Tile promo years ago and while it was neat, I never really used it and sadly the battery wasn't replaceable. I want to put one in my slim wallet and maybe attach the other to the car keys.

Btw, I bought the two packs like a year ago from Costco and put both on my car key fobs. It's very convenient to locate my keys when I don't know where my keys are. You can also ring your phone by pressing the tile. So it's two-way.

Thanks and repped, I'll stick with 2018 since I don't really need the extended range and thinking to get 4 pack for family members. Tile app/find basic feature is free "forever" as long as I replace batteries, correct? I don't need the premium features, just the basics and wanted to make sure. Appreciate it.

Also, is the "pro 2020" ideal to leave in glove box in a car to look for it in a large parking lot or garage? Curious if you or anyone has used it for that purpose given the longer range on it.

If you have a newer Samsung Galaxy or iPhone, you're probably better off getting their respective trackers with UWB. They are MUCH more accurate compared to these simple Bluetooth only trackers. For something like finding your parked car it'll be able to show you an arrow pointing to them in the app and things like that. I would definitely check out some videos of them since most of them do a searching demonstration. AirTags and SmartTags+.

Other options are setting up an app that will save your location when you disconnect from your car's Bluetooth or something like that. There are also devices that connect to your car's OBD II port that tracks your location.

If you put your zip code into the brickseek link and click 'check inventory' it'll show you nearby stores and the prices.

Plenty around me for $8.99 in NY.

So if these are Bluetooth only, my assumption is you aren't going to be able to find something that's more than probably 100 ft away, maybe 200 at best. Would that be a correct assumption?

Pretty much. Real world distance probably a little shorter. The idea is they have a ton of users to help crowd search for your lost device. But in a parking lot there's probably not a lot of people and it can only give you a general idea of where your tile is if found. I don't think the audio is loud enough to be heard from inside a glove box from the outside.

FYI, they all fail.

I got the replaceable battery ones that eventually stopped working. I replaced the battery on it, it never came back on, tried multiple batteries but nope.

Great while they last but then they're pretty much throwaways.
