SKIL 15 Amp 10 Inch Table Saw $299

Former Frontpage Deal is back. Considered by many on SD to be one of the best deals out there for hobbyists looking for a quality table saw. Accepts dado insert. As many noted on the previous deal thread, this is not up to the quality of a 10in, pro/job site saw....but if you want that, be prepared to spend 50% more.

Menard's website says it's $312 AFTER 11% rebate.

Nevermind that SDers have the Amazon CC that gives you 5% off the $299 price.

I'm pretty sure most household circuits are rated for either 15 or 20 amps. Running this thing on a standard circuit means you can't run much else on that individual circuit.

Has anyone used both this and the dewalt 8-1/4 table saw? Would appreciate a comparison (as I'd like a 10" saw, but not for too much more money).

Same thing with a good circular saw, or router. 15amp is kind of the higher rated standard for power tools. But you are correct in your reply to the other guy.

Why wouldn't a beginner/hobbyists just buy the Ryobi 10in 15amp table saw? Its only $189

For the same reason I bought it and returned it. The 12 inch rip capacity renders it useless for 99% of the jobs you'll use a table saw for. It's also deemed to be far inferior as far as quality control goes.

It's also been this price at Lowes. $299 was the MSRP when it came out a year ago.

I feel like at $300 why get this over the Rigid one that is $450 or waiting for a deal on a dewalt one?

The Ridgid Jobsite saw is good (their other table saw is poorly received), but you're literally paying 50% more for a pro level item.

Dewalt 8 inch with legs was going for $300 on occasion at HD. Others here said Dewalt was discontinuing the model, hence the deal. If the 8in size isn't an issue and you don't need to use dado blades, then nothing wrong with going with the Dewalt.

BTW - this deal is live again.
