Friends don't let friends use locking hitch pins.

It's only a matter of time before the lock rusts, freezes, or otherwise fails and you have to cut the damn thing off.

For people who regularly remove their hitch it's fine. But if you're going to run around with your hitch all the time that's definitely a problem.

I have an adjustable height trailer hitch. I bought it so that I can always be flat with whatever trailer I'm towing. With this one your trailer would only be flat if it happens to match, which as soon as you change trailer or tow vehicle, it won't match anymore. The ball is also welded to the hitch which means you don't have ability to change ball sizes. Also it's not even a good deal, harbor freight has the hitch mount for $16 and ball for $9 which means it's really just regular price except you get a locking pin instead of regular pin with this deal.

Seems like a good deal. Here's the matching Amazon listing but for 2in drop which is similar.

CURT 45141 Trailer Hitch Mount, 2-Inch Ball, Lock, Fits 2-In Receiver, 7,500 lbs, 2" Drop , Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WQNS...N1K1A15HY9

Lowest price ever was 24.31 in July 2020.

Average price on last 3 months is $34.93.

4.7 stars with 853 reviews.

What do you all think about Curt? I've always chosen Reese just based on recommendations since I was little.

Want in on a little secret? Any small key (size of original) will unlock the pin. Trust me.

A cheap, reliable regular hitch pin. People aren't going to steal your trailer. If you're worried about the hitch, take it off.

Depends on the trailer. Highly unlikely that you'll want a 4" drop though.

Most SUVs ride low enough that most trailers will need a straight or rise ball. Only time I've needed a drop is with a 1 ton truck. With my 1/2 ton, a straight 3 ball Reese is perfect for my 3 most commonly pulled trailers.

Yeah most hitch pin locks and ball locks are ridiculously easy to break. Another reason to skip them.
