This is a fantastic deal. Easily the best probe on the market (along with the Thermopen).

Way better option than all the generic knockoffs constantly being shilled on forums.

Thanks for posting OP

First, you should decide if you're cool with bluetooth, or if you're willing to pay more for wi-fi.

I need wi-fi, because I wanted to be able to go downstairs on the other side of my house while grilling, and not worry about connection issues.

This might be overkill, but I just bought this (wi-fi), and it's still on sale with the same coupon I used. $55 after coupon, and it comes with a laser thermometer:

"Inkbird IBBQ-4T"
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B099JRXD3Z

It's actually cheaper than buying it without the laser ($58 after coupon):

https://smile.amazon.com/Inkbird-...B07XNTJKY4

Even buying it with an "instant fast read" thermometer is cheaper than just buying it without an accessory, at $57.50 after coupon:

https://smile.amazon.com/Inkbird-Thermometer-IBBQ-4T-Waterproof-Instant/dp/B08HWDCYMZ [amazon.com]

I've been very happy with it so far. Cooked steak, trout, salmon on the grill with it so far, and brisket in the slow cooker. Each time, I set alarms for the temperature I wanted, and it rang an alarm on my phone whenever it hit the temperature.

Any reason to get this if I already have a Thermapen? Or is this basically just a more budget version?

I got the Thermometer and the Meat Temp. Chart.
My current thermometer only reads in C, and I'm 'Murican!
Also, tired of needing to google temps while grilling/smoking.
Thanks OP, this will make my life 0.000032% easier.

Because it's far more accurate, and faster. This is the gold standard.

I thought that $100+ Thermopen was. How much faster is that one compared to the Pop?

This is the same company that makes the Thermopen. The timing is almost identical. A couple of seconds for an accurate read.

Ohh lol I thought it was just a random company. So many other names/companies named thermo(insert another 1 syllable word). Hard to tell which is which nowadays.

It's not as fast as the Thermopen but it's plenty fast. The Thermopen is a better product but it's also another 60-70 dollars more. I have had the Thermopop for about 8 years or so (just moderate use) and it's held up well and has been great.

Grill noob here that finally bought a grill and looking to dive in.

I have been looking at the Thermopen MK4 on closeout. Is it worth the price difference compared to this one?

I bought one of these from a previous deal, and it died shorty after. Tried changing the battery and everything but it was dead. Do not recommend.

I like that extra length to get your hand away from the heat source. Trying to use one of these dinky probes over hot coals, not fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwoyEZYDq58

You don't need another one, but this one works just as good, and it's cheaper.

Just bought 3 for Christmas gifts. Shipping stayed at 5 bucks, so call around and order them as a group if you want to split shipping rates.
