This is a fantastic deal. Easily the best probe on the market (along with the Thermopen).

Way better option than all the generic knockoffs constantly being shilled on forums.

First, you should decide if you're cool with bluetooth, or if you're willing to pay more for wi-fi.

I need wi-fi, because I wanted to be able to go downstairs on the other side of my house while grilling, and not worry about connection issues.

This might be overkill, but I just bought this (wi-fi), and it's still on sale with the same coupon I used. $55 after coupon, and it comes with a laser thermometer:

"Inkbird IBBQ-4T"
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B099JRXD3Z

It's actually cheaper than buying it without the laser ($58 after coupon):

https://smile.amazon.com/Inkbird-...B07XNTJKY4

Even buying it with an "instant fast read" thermometer is cheaper than just buying it without an accessory, at $57.50 after coupon:

https://smile.amazon.com/Inkbird-Thermometer-IBBQ-4T-Waterproof-Instant/dp/B08HWDCYMZ [amazon.com]

I've been very happy with it so far. Cooked steak, trout, salmon on the grill with it so far, and brisket in the slow cooker. Each time, I set alarms for the temperature I wanted, and it rang an alarm on my phone whenever it hit the temperature.

Grill noob here that finally bought a grill and looking to dive in.

I have been looking at the Thermopen MK4 on closeout. Is it worth the price difference compared to this one?
Look into the DOT as well, it's a leave in thermometer with different lead options. I didn't know I needed one of these types of thermometers til I randomly bought one during a sale.

It's not as fast as the Thermopen but it's plenty fast. The Thermopen is a better product but it's also another 60-70 dollars more. I have had the Thermopop for about 8 years or so (just moderate use) and it's held up well and has been great.
Now that they're closing out the Mk4 in lieu of the ONE, it's less than $50 difference.

The longer reach and faster readout are definitely desired if you're taking readings on the grill. Whether that is worth the price difference is up to you. Leave in probe options like the DOT or ChefAlarm would also be worth comparing depending on your cooking style.

FWIW, I purchased a DOT and ThermoPop for my parents several years ago, and they use the DOT way more when grilling/cooking meat.

I'd recommend a 4-probe Wi-fi or Blue-tooth Thermometer, like the inkbird IBBQ-4T or something similar, depending on your budget, over a single probe. You can set alarms via smartphone app and have constant feedback of your proteins temps without lifting the grill top via graphs. If your looking, it's not cooking.

I also hate poking multiple holes in my meat, as it releases juices. So having a wired probe means only needing one poke until your near the end.

Dude you can't compare some no name Chinese brand on Amazon, "ink bird" to Thermoworks.

I started out with one of these a few years ago and recently upgraded to the MK4 on a deal price. The temp reading is faster and you're farther away from the heat, as others have mentioned, but there are a couple of other nice features the MK4 has that I much prefer to the Pop: Auto-wake on picking it up, auto-rotating display, auto-backlight, and the ability to store the probe end more securely (I mangled one of my Pops in a drawer once even with the sheath on it). Given the closeout price also mentioned in this thread on the MK4, I'd go with it. Still though, this is a great deal on the Pop.

The title should be changed to ThermoPop $26
I almost bought one after seeing $21, but it's actually 25% more.
Don't get me wrong I love these things, I own a Thermopen.
He changed it to $26, but that's not a good title either, because can buy as many as you want, and shipping is only $5 for all of them to be shipped.

I bought 5, was 5 x 21 + 5 = 110 (plus tax).

The bluedot is great if your oven is close to where you will be waiting. If bluetooth range is adequate they are great. You can use phone or other devices to check temp, and have phone ring alarm at set temp. The Part I really like is it makes a graph of temp in real time. Can really figure out optimal oven temps for future cooks if study graph.

3-4 seconds, better than the $10 thermometers you'd buy at a Walmart/Target/etc. The Thermapen Mk4 is 2-3 seconds and uses a different technology. If you're grilling, you'll appreciate the extra reach and speed of the thermapen.

I bought one of these from a previous deal, and it died shorty after. Tried changing the battery and everything but it was dead. Do not recommend.
Did you try their warranty service? It comes with a 2-year warranty and I'd expect this company to be pretty solid with respect to making things right.

I have some inkbirk bird equipment and just used their 4 probe bluetooth unit yesterday with no problems. I would not knock on inkbird too much. They have many innovative products that have been been well received in the home brewing and other communities.

The $69 closeout price for the Mk4 is a better deal.
