I will keep you posted when snow is here.
why are you so focused on snow traction?
why arent you focusing more on wet traction?
you're going to be on the road more often in rain than in snow
thus cant do an 'X' when rotating tires.
have to rotate front to back on same side
only 800k miles worth of reviews at TireRack.
And a 9.2 rating in snow?! for an all-season tire?!
Yeah, the consumer ratings are to be taken with a grain of salt, like for all newly released tires.
ie: The Defender was also #1 in it's tire class when it came out years ago.
it's nowhere near the hype it turned out to be
edit:
2021 review of CrossClimate2 vs Defender vs Pilot Sport 4s vs Pilot Sport
https://www.tirerack.co
the Winter conditions of the test has not yet been completed.
so if i get the crossclimate2, it'll be a leap of faith based on the Michelin brand alone.
edit2:
interesting that TireRack doesnt have anything on the Michelin - X Tour A/S??
I'm considering cross climate 2 since the OEM premier a/s is almost with down after only 35k miles.

So I'm looking at the Michelin Primacy Tour A/S vs. Cross Climate 2. That's some funky tread on the Cross Climate 2 and not enough Tire Rack miles tested for me to be completely comfortable taking a chance on that tire, unless I see more positive reviews pretty quickly.
So I would be grateful if you post back here again after you have driven yours enough to form some opinions about them. :-)
Thanks!
I have a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 tires coming in for my own car soon, also from Costco. One of the few "AA" traction rated tires. I'm willing to sacrifice fuel economy for traction, it's a sticky tire so I know my gas mileage will dip a bit. Recently had to panic stop after a van cut me off then slammed on his brakes because someone cut HIM off.. so I definitely want good tires.
Costco replaced both rear tires with new Michelin Pilot AS 4 tires (Pilot AS 3 no longer available). Total out of pocket cost to me - $28.
Replacing the rear tires also got rid of a mild thump - thump I never bothered to investigate, so win-win, happy-happy.
We didn't want to make the jump to the CrossClimate 2 either, no snow here anyway.. though it's supposedly great in dry and wet weather anyway. Ended up with the Primacy Tour A/S on one of our cars last year and they've been great. Have about 8-9K miles on them so far. They replaced Michelin MXV4 tires, and in the past I had Michelin Pilot Exaltos installed on all of our cars. I would definitely recommend the Primacy Tour tires. Wet and dry traction has been on par with the best Michelin tires we've had.

I had Pilot Exalto tires on my Mazdas for years and loved them. Then I moved to Pilot Sport AS tires when they dropped the Exaltos and I love the Pilots as well. For me the improvement in handling, braking, etc., is worth the drop in mpg (about 2.0 mpg for me). If you really want to take it up a notch, replace the OEM struts\shocks with a set of Koni Special Active Reds.

I have Defender on the minivan. It works great with rain but snow is pretty good. You won't go wrong with Michelin tires.
