And as a Slickdealer, when he's talking about value for dollars, that generally all goes out the window too because I don't pay retail.
He rated Bosch Icon blades highest but I'm not paying $40 for a set of wiper blades because they'll last a few months longer than my $8 set of Trico Neoforms.

Pur has the highest TDS rating and just tastes like tap water to me though they claim it filters almost everything Brita does.
Brita has a lower TDS and tastes more "fresh" or "sweet" imho but I only use the sink attachment since I switched to Zerowater.
Zerowater has the best taste like "pure" or "not alkaline or acidic" water taste. There is no Faucet attachment for a sink but I think this is due to the more complicated filtration system.
I would go bigger than a small pitcher if you're not doing a picnic. You can pick up the 20 - 30 cup dispensers that crack easily in a fridge when they get crushed but I don't regret it.
For a Faucet in your kitchen go for Brita! The filters are more available than Pur filters and I found that they work better when I'm washing dishes because it doesn't accidentally just "click" on.
I think anything but water in these filters would destroy it
My parents used these for years. I got hooked. Got one. My daughter is now hooked. This makes a big difference in how our water tastes (in a good way). She won't even drink water from our refrigerator's built-in water filter anymore.
They are usually $7.36 at Walmart. Not always but they are that price often.
