If any of y'all want to read about this sort of fascinating liminal space, I can recommend "Unruly Places: Lost Spaces, Secret Cities, and Other Inscrutable Geographies" by Alastair Bonnett. Nonfiction, about the weird undefined or poorly defined spaces of our world.
