It doesn't specifically state "Surface Pen 2." Could it be the older keyboard with the old pen? Costco has odd stuff like that.

SMH. Why any Windows PC isn't shipping with 16GB minimum is crazy in 2021. Let alone a system were you can't upgrade from the 8GB.

Good point, but pictures show both the the new type cover (which has the slot for the slim pen 2) and the slim pen 2. Trust pictures over text description?

Lol the rams aren't going to cost crazy nowadays. It may take a while for Microsoft to figure out the problems with 8GB rams, just like apple. Is the SSD upgradeable?

Does the old Surface Pro X keyboard fit the Surface Pro 8? The Surface Pro X keyboard and pen looked like that.

Being a long term surface user, the form factor, gets painful to use after a while for the price range I think 16" lg gram touch is a better deal https://www.costco.com/lg-gram-16...39790.html

LMAOLMAOLMAO Word on the street is that it might be a 2230 SSD; you know, the size almost nobody uses/makes for NVMe and costs a fortune. I mean, it's still better than dremeling out the back case to access it like you used to. Sort of.

I haven't been following the SP line recently - I'm guessing they're still using the n-Trig pens that can't draw a straight diagonal line across the screen? They were a year and a half ago the last time I tried one out.

Lol the max capacity of 2230 SSD is like 512GB? Cheapest price is something around $100. Previous gen was easy access/change Ssd. I would wait until I can get more details on this gen. There are tons of better choice than surface right now, not rush.

The new Surfaces will have 1TB 2230 SSDs, just like the Surface Laptops. I've seen many 1TB 2230 Surface drives on eBay.

Cnet seems to confirm old surface pro keyboards won't work, and the surface pen might be the same one as on the surface pro X. Though the event it seemed like it was a new pen with custom G6 silicon in it.

Interesting video, but the guy had a bunch of errors right off the bat. That's honestly the worst CNET review I've ever seen. My guess is that since the color of the keyboard that is shown with the 256GB SSD version on Costco was not previously available for the Surface Pro X, that it is in fact the new keyboard version with the Surface Pen 2. I'm still waiting, I think there will be some deals coming. Plus, the Costco Surface will deliver a month later than if you ordered it from Microsoft directly.

I think you can get it delivered to store and pickup on release day - Oct 5. Warehouses will also have them in store most likely, though they typically only have one of the bundles. Naturally costco.com has more options.

I preordered the $1349 config myself, but as release date gets closer I'll call my local warehouse and see what they have in store. Will be nice to test drive it in the warehouse and pick mine up at the counter or have the option to cancel it at the counter too.

Windows 11 is the other variable here - hopefully 8GB is enough, but no one really knows yet.
