Polk sells poor quality soundbar products. Ask any owner of the $799 SB-1 soundbar. These soundbars had a defective capacitor which failed after a couple of years (after the warranty period). Polk knew about it and did nothing for owners.

Buyer beware.

I've had this soundbar for a year or two. It sounds REALLY good for this price. It has enough adjustments with the remote that you should be able to find a "sound" you like. I paid this price at BB during a sale. Highly recommended.

While I don't doubt that that was the case this is still a good deal. It's $280 at amazon and BB. Costco allows for soundbars to be returned indefinitely so if it breaks at any time you can still return it for a full refund. I just went through two Vizio soundbars. One died after 6 months and the replacement died after a month. Costco took them both back without issue.

Do you have to keep the original box for returning ?

Not usually - I returned a failed 7.2 receiver with no box, and they didn't even blink.

I thought Costco only supports 90 days of returns for electronics. This would be weird if they allow returns after any period.

If you're looking for something that supports the Chromecast audio protocol, there's little else on the market that is "modern" and still supports it.

For me, it's something i wanted and so i placed my order last night. I DO NOT know that this device does it well...

Mine arrived today and I'll be returning shortly. Weak weak weak! The sub is simply a joke and the bar volume fluctuates constantly to the point it's a distraction. Tried all the sound modes, voice enhance on and off, sub level all the way up, still super weak sound. Tried on two newer tvs, sucked on both. Arc works ok, but sound is barely better than tv speakers. I don't recommend this Polk S3 at all. Compared side by side to my Samsung hw-t650 3.1 bar, this Polk is no good. Everything sounds way better on the Samsung, especially tv and movies.

What! This $150 soundbar is worse than a $300 soundbar??

Btw...I made a mistake earlier. I have the S2 soundbar. Not the S3. Paid $150 from BB. Sounds very good for what it is. Waaaaaaay better than the Vizio tv speakers. No contest!

Actually, I paid $146 with tax for the Samsung from amazon, so less than the Polk. It was a front page slick deal from last week, 40% off coupon from amazon warehouse - used like new. Mine looks brand new, cords were all still sealed, outer box was distressed. Smokes the Polk and cheaper to boot. Point is there are better soundbars out there for less than this Polk. Love the easy returns at Costco though.
