I got one of these for $529 during the "Prime Day week" specials that Walmart was running. In general, it's a surprisingly nice set of hardware for the price point (especially if you upgrade the RAM and put in a larger SSD). Here is my summary of the main pros and cons:

Pros:
  • Good hardware for the price (e.g., has GPU where most in this range don't, seems pretty well built, etc.)
  • Clear & bright screen with wide viewing angle that appears to be an IPS (or IPS-like) panel. By default it's not at max brightness, but once you go into the "EVOO Control Panel" and select "Video" mode it seems to jump to max brightness.
  • Holds two SSDs
  • RAM is not soldered on
Cons:
  • Don't expect ANY support from EVOO... including updated drivers. If you search around you can see where people have posted equivalent drivers from other computer "manufacturers", but I wouldn't expect anything from EVOO itself. For example, the LP10 (EG-LP10-BK) isn't even listed on their support page! https://www.evooproducts.com/support.html
  • The touchpad is VERY susceptible to false touches... the cursor is constantly jumping where you don't want it
  • As I mention, the screen is bright, clear, etc.... but it does have a color cast. I was able to somewhat correct it with a custom color profile, but I still wouldn't want to edit photos on it.

This was a good deal when it was new, but that 1650 is barely cutting it for new AAA games
Dude.... It's a budget gaming laptop for about $500. What are you expecting?

Seems pretty decent, but I don't have specific numbers since I almost never run it on battery.

1650 is fine imo. With the 1650 you could probably get 60fps on many newer games with mid-high settings. Which is probably fine for most people. The main off putting thing about this laptop is the search for driver support.

I had gotten a gateway and I'm on the fence atm on whether or not to keep it due lack of driver support/finding the drivers. Another Con for some would be battery life, you could maybe max out at about 4 hours.

Exactly, this definitely isnt a top tier gaming laptop, but for the price you really wont find many, if any laptops that are capable of this performance in gaming. Its a AAA 1080p medium gaming laptop, nothing more, but thats absolutely fine for what youre paying. The next performance tier up is going to be around $800, or 50% more. It is a good deal, great as a gaming PC for kids or a budget gaming laptop for people who dont want a desktop.

My son and I both bought one and it is a very good deal. The first thing we did was add more ram and a extra ssd for storage. With extra ram (16gb) it made a pretty big jump in performance. We haven't found a game yet it won't run. Most of the brand new games were set at medium but it is very good for just a little over $500. with heavy gaming you better have your power brick plugged in, with only battery on gaming it was about 1 1/2 hours. just messing on the web and emailing I am getting about 4 hours. but again this is a $549 gaming laptop.

You can.
Gateway creator with i5 10th gen and 2060 from VIPOutlet (Walmart) was at the same price and it has better build. Saw it on clearance for $569 and you can apply 10% off for a first order, few weeks ago while was away, at the time I was back home few hours later it was gone.
