#2 Phillips are quite often the most used and worn out bits. That is why so many sets have multiples of them. They are quite literally the opposite of "useless" and, depending on the project, many of us will purchase the little boxes containing only those [homedepot.com].

There are hundreds of different bit sets to choose from. If this set is "useless" for the work that you do, I'm sure that there's some set out there that is a better fit.

Does anyone have any experience adjusting the 'layout' of these bit cases? All the different Milwaukee sets look like they're essentially modular; a rectangular case with a bunch of 'slots' to attach little shelf thingies, with a few different versions of 'shelves' that hold the actual bits.

With this 70 piece set, for instance, could I pop out one of the 'short bit shelves' on the right side, and make room to insert some taller bits I have from another set? Or if I had another Milwaukee bit set, could I pull a different 'shelf' out of it, and pop it into this case, to create some personally-optimized layout?

Yup. A flat head screwdriver is able to pry these shelves out and then you force them back into the slot you want wit your thumbs. I took a double-set and made my own layout that fit my preferred collection better.

Most people will not go through 28 #2 bits. Useless to "most" is probably accurate.

Milwaukee brand isn't aimed at most people. They're a contractor brand first and foremost.

That said, the majority of my house rebuild has been with bit heads other than Philips #2. I use more T20/T25/PH3 than traditional #2, but that's just me.

I was spoiled with the craftsman impact set for 1.75 and 3.75 clearance deals. I have 5 sets for under $15. Yes Milwaukee is stronger but I have 4x each bit lol
