Samsung has their top-of-the-line 4K TV on sale for the "Discover Samsung" event (along with most other TV's). If you open the attached link, it should take you to the "buy more save more" page which has a variety of products that, when purchased with another eligible device, gives you 10% off.

The cheapest eligible product I found is the Galaxy Buds Live. Add them to the cart along with the Q90A and the total with the Education discount is $2,961.88 (plus Tax, if applicable).

Samsung also offers their TV Upgrade program for this TV, and for those eligible, Samsung Financing offers up to 48 month, no interest financing that brings the monthly payments to around $62.

Here is the Rtings review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...qn90a-qled

At the risk of being supercilious, one thing I'd remind peeps is that if you ordered a TV and it has shipped, it's not very nice to cancel the order because you changed your mind and decided you wanted something else. I see some people say they'll just wait until it arrives and then refuse delivery. Hey jokers, these are not smartphones - shipping a TV across country costs $100's of dollars. If you can't see the problem from a pure decency point of view, at least understand that generating costs like this on Samsung will mean they'll have to increase prices to cover the dick-wads who f' them around, and that hits all of us.

Goodnight.
And I'm in school, therefore unable to jump on this. Life is cruel sometimes, haha.
A student spending 3k on a TV..... hmmmm someone didn't think this one out in marketing

Is this dead? I can only get it to $3,199, an $800 discount. That is before adding the buds which only raise the price.

I cannot get this deal with either EPP or EDU discounts. Final price b4 tax is $3200. Not showing anything about free buds either.

In daytime or with a lit room, you won't really notice the pure black as much so a normal QLED or led will look fine.
If someone wasn't planning to use it in a dark room, that big benefit goes away and the benefits a QLED has (like a larger size or brighter picture) become much more useful
Quote from mm60 :
This forces OLED manufacturers to dim the image if it is too bright which means dimmer pictures than LED TV's in general. In a brightly lit room, LED TV's may have an advantage as the blacks get washed out by ambient light anyway.
In my case the plan is to have it in a living room, where natural light does get in, even with blinds closed. I understand the benefit of being OLED will go away during the day, however wouldn't still be better in the evening? With that said, what about color accuracy, as OLED still seemed to produce more accurate colors vs QLED.
So in a situation where it's same price, 3k for 77 a80j and 3k for 75 qn90 (im sure it will drop to 2.5k if not less), wouldn't it still be worth getting the OLED due to color reproduction, even considering the blacks wont make much of a difference in natural light?

I haven't compared those 2, but there are benefits to each. OLED has great black levels but often not as bright as a non OLED (so during the day, the Samsung might look better). I believe OLED also has better color reproduction and refresh times, but QLED might have more vibrant colors (but not as accurate?) And won't have burn in issues if you play a lot of games.

For me, mostly watching movies and at night, OLED was the go-to for sure. If you have someone who plays a lot of the same game or watches network tv, you might develop burn in at some point.

The size is the other issue. Between 77 and 75, not a big issue at all. But between 65 and 85? Much different

Not sure about the color accuracy but the huge benefit of OLED is the infinite contrast (mainly because of the absolute black which LED cannot match). Am also seeing reviewers say that the A80J brightness limiter has not turned on watching football in the afternoon on a room with some windows, so this generation of OLED panels may be a really good deal.

Samsung would have benefitted if they opened up these deals to general public instead of to just educational institutions. I am a potential buyer. But I can buy OLED that I have been coveting for long time instead of Samsung at this price point It is not competitive at all esp because Neo QLED has been bashed as being nothing fancy.

What are people that got in on the QN90A getting for delivery dates?

I received a date more than a month out (early Nov). Then I received an email saying the order was further delayed with no delivery date.

I know this deal is expired, kinda, but this review does a great job of explaining the case of this TV over an OLED, and how close this TV comes to OLED picture quality. I have a bright room with windows on 3 sides, so I went with this TV. If I had a dedicated basement theater room or something, I'd pick an OLED. https://www.cnet.com/reviews/sams...0a-review/

Looks like the QN85A + Galaxy Buds Live is $2,602 PLUS a $350 Samsung.com future credit. If you value/will use the credit, that's $2,252 for the QN85 bundle vs the $2,962 for the QN90 bundle. The QN85 is an IPS-like panel that has wider viewing angles and might be better for PC use, but the QN90 is just better overall. However, might be worth considering to save a few bucks and get a TV in the same size and 1" thin form factor, without sacrificing much:

https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...shold=0.10

QN85A 85" is VA panel, it's close to QN90A in performance and best value according to me.

I got it on a earlier deal without the buds bundle, but I got 10% knocked off just by mentioning this deal, I might not want the Samsung Sound Bar at this moment.

Most importantly the delivery is almost stretched to 6+ weeks and it's been a torture.

Update: $250 refund approved and got the tracking #, TV is getting delivered next week. Out and out best deal hope I do get a good panel and no damage. I paid $2.5k odd with tax included.

I have Oct. 29th. When I reached out to support for confirmation of this date, they offered, without my prompt, to take $100 off the order to keep the order active.(Will see credit once TV ships) Applause

Worth a chat (without the threat of canceling) to see if you get the same customer support offer of $100 off for waiting.

I hesitated between this and sony a80j oled and the deal died before I was able to place an order. Was hoping I will be available again but it seems not.

Anyone who ordered with this deal actually recived the TV or all are waiting?
