I bought the 6/64gb version of this direct from Samsung w/EDU back in March for $140 and then I think it dropped to $120 shortly after. Pretty sure pricing that low isn't too common though and it was only w/ an EDU account, so not for everyone.

Only used it for a few hours before giving it to my elderly parents so they can join the rest of us in the 21st century.

It's a fine little machine and I'm not usually one to complain about screen quality, but the screen on this thing was pretty bad. Like, at one point I turned on the "night light" feature to filter out blue light and it just looked...haunted. Even while having it on the "cooler" side of the scale.

I had the 15" version of this as well before returning it and that one had a much nicer 1080p screen but it was just way too massive for a Chromebook. Seemed heavier than my 2015 13" MB Pro.

If you won't be using this too much for media consumption, then I think you can probably put up with the screen quality, but to each their own of course. Seems like a good price, so might be worth getting anyway and then just return it if the screen bothers you.

If you buy this be sure to check the screen color right away so you can return it if it isn't to your liking. I bought one for this price and couldn't deal with the blue cast to everything.

Yes this is cheap. I think most would prefer the Lenovo duet or the Acer 315 ips with touch depending on your form factor requirements.

I got the 315 for around $220 at one point so the price is higher but the screen is much better.

Does Samsung add a bunch of Samsung bloatware to their chromebooks like they do to their phones?

Does this come with HDMI out? I don't see that on very many chrome books any more.

It's usually better to check stuff like this for yourself rather than ask, wait for an answer (that might be wrong) and wait for follow-ups to confirm. Google the model number and check specs on the manufacturer's site.

That said I checked and saw it does not, but it has a USB-C which is easily adapted, however I do not know how compatible various $10-$15 adapters are with Chromebooks.

The reviews on this are not good. Screen and trackpad are both problems.
I would suggest this instead for same price.

I would agree that the Acer 311 is a better Chromebook. Unfortunately, the Acer 512 is back up to $279.00 and sold out at Bestbuy. The Lenovo C340 convertible is another good option for $149.00 at Walmart. I just grabbed a 512 yesterday for a senior friend of mine that tends to be pretty rough on laptops. She sat on her last Acer and cracked the screenSmilie

I worked at a small school and we had the Samsung Chromebook 2's in all our classrooms. We had them 6 years now and they are ending their lifespan. Out of 300 or so chromebooks, we've only had to repair maybe 10 in that amount of time. We recently bought 100 of these to start replacing the old ones. I sure hope they are as resilient as the old ones.

Not from what i have heard unfortunately. They keep making them more cheaply.
