I recommend giving the newer keyboard a physical test-drive at a store or just be prepared to exercise the return option.

The Ergo 4000 has been my go-to for seven years. I had telepathic command of all of its keys. However, when I "upgraded" to the newer ergonomic keyboard, I didnt have this command anymore. It is hard to explain...the key travel is a bit more shallow, and the taper of the keys from the top of the keyboard to the bottom is smoother and less punctuated. Imagine stairsteps which have a larger height difference between each step vs a ramp. I prefer the former. I ended up returning the newer KB and am still using the 4000. It isnt technically broken, but it is *very* worn out.

Ironically, the MS sculpt has even less key travel, but yet I adapted to it well, but not so with the new ergo. However, the sculpt doesnt have a number pad, which is a huge no-no for my work. So I ended up returning it as well.

Tl;dr - go try the new one out and form your own opinion. Comfort is very subjective.

Good deal. Great keyboard and very comfy. Only negative is being wired. If only this is wireless.

I clicked on the link because it was wired. Bluetooth is garbage and a huge PITA when trying to troubleshoot. Not to mention needing a battery in my device or having to charge it. If I wanted a portable keyboard, I'd buy a laptop.

I have the wireless version of this and the matching ergonomic mouse. It's a great set and very easy on the wrists and joints. Highly recommend it!
False, there is no wireless version of this. There is another ergo model that is wireless. This exact keyboard does not come wireless

Bought one of these in the past and the design is really hard to get used to since I have never used an Ergonomic Keyboard before. Never got used to it and decided to just return it. The price was decent though but was hardly usable

Anyone got any ergonomic keyboards that are mechanical? Membrane keyboards aren't as much fun to type on than the spring action

There really aren't any unless you want a full split keyboard and then the Kinesis Freestyle Edge RGB is supposedly good, but close to $200

The Generic Black Hat Hacker type had one of these last week on the NCIS Hawaii show. I laughed so hard knowing a hacker is going to want a tenkey less brown cherry mx switch keyboard not this plastic.

Man why is it that you NEVER see a lit-key argo. keyboard?

I don't need it to look like a RGB Xmas tree like some of the gaming keyboards... but it's be SO nice to have an ergo kb, say like a Natural 1000, that lights up in low light...

I was going to ask the same thing. Ergo positioning but with bad tactile feel seems like substituting one problem for another.

I have one, and I tired of the size. I'm happier now with my much smaller iClever BK06.

This is an amazing deal. I thought they had stopped producing these. The MS ergo line are the best keyboards I have used, they won't last forever but they will save your hands a lot of pain. They werea lot more expensive than this too. I prefer wired anyways for my home office so perfect find.
edit: I guess they did stop producing the 4000 ones, which I liked the best. As long as the split key shape is the same though I'm good with this for $30. And honestly I don't get the buzz about mechanical keyboards. I get plenty of feedback from plastic keys and not having to press as far saves more wear and tear on my fingers. These particular ones have a soft plastic I like. I don't like noisy keys.

This is a downgrade from the classic MS Ergo 4000, but it's still better than all the clones I've tried on Amazon. I agree the keys are too mushy for sure. But unless you get into the >$100 range it's probably still the best.

I can't believe they stopped making the 4000s. I wish I bought 10 of them.

Be aware that this one has a "Delete" key ABOVE the "Backspace" key on top right before the gap to the row of function keys. If you are used to feeling for the gap and hitting the top-right key for "Backspace", this could throw you off. 😊
This (the differing layout) is the sole reason I haven't gotten it.

I've been using the Microsoft Ergonomic Natural Elite keyboard for almost 22 years.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mic...l_Keyboard

The only thing that kills my desire to want to use this is how accustomed my hands have become to reaching a certain distance for the function keys as well as the layout of the arrows and the "home/end" block.

I have no need for the multimedia/app keys at the top of the featured device.

I wouldn't mind getting a brand new, identical keyboard if it had the same layout for the same price.
