Great sign on bonus for internet service, but the coverage of AT&T fiber is painful, none of my address have its service.

Additionally:
$50 off $50 on Amex Cards ( I have 5 friends/family with it)

Rate jumps in 12 months, but you can cancel whenever
This is att's best offer for me....

I paid $50 instead of the $45 and it triggered the email stating I used the offer.

Just note that AT&T only allows one account per residential address. So it is a bit tricky to do the switch over without losing the internet for a few hours. Or if you can bear with no home internet for a couple of days it will be easy and just skip the steps below.
The first step is to tell them you want to cancel the existing plan -> When asked why not transfer your plan to new name you should be prepared with a solid reason
The second step is to set a disconnection date -> Try to set a date 3-4 days from the call-in date because the shipping of the new modem takes a couple of days. And of course, choose a date without heavy network traffic in your home
The third step is to create a new account -> If you create it online, there is no way to choose the starting date but by default it will be 3-4 days after your ordering date
The fourth step is call AT&T and move the new service starting date to the disconnection date in Step 2, or one day after. You should note that the AT&T allows the activation only after 2PM of the starting date.
The fifth step is receiving the new modem box and activate the new service while shipping back the old modem.
I have had these steps done recently and also received email notification of new account bonus payments. So good luck to everyone!
P.S. You may receive calls from the agent when they find there is a "overlap" on the internet services at the same address. Again you should explain to them with your solid reason.
