No its dotdot for atmos. The ear level channels and height channels are interchangable, but the subwooofer ones are not. So 7.2 is seven channels (either ear level or height) and 2 subwoofer channels (really its just 1 split..but its marketing to call it .2). So this receiver can do 5.2.2 or 7.2.0. it cannot support 5.1.4 or 7.1.4 (5.1.4 would require a 9.1 receiver, and 7.1.4 would be an 11.1 channel receiver...those exist..but not in this price range).
Damn. I bought my 750h 5 months ago. I cooooould return it. But that's kind of a dick move for a perfectly working item
That's not how it works. People act like they're suddenly entitled to some to something when they pay the tiny annual fee (are you really of the mindset that the pitiful $60 actually covers the loss here?). Do you also act like you can intentionally wreck your cars because you pay for insurance?

If his device had broken 5 months ago and he returned it, that's one thing. But, to go and return it because there's suddenly a different device? "Come on, man." It's literally the reason why they changed the unlimited return policy to 90 days for electronics, because people were grossly taking advantage of it.

And the good news keeps getting better....the guys over at avsforum discovered another 2021 model, the AVR-X1700H which is the successor to the X1600 and a sibling of this S960H. Best Buy now has the AVR-X1700H listed, but not in stock yet.

It has almost the same back panel as the S760H with the addition of Zone 2 Pre Out and IR In. It has 80W/ch which is a whopping 5W more than on the S760H. Quoting an AVSForum member's post - The X series does have a better version of Audyssey for speaker equalization, also it gets a 2 year warranty and removeable power cord - compared to the cheaper S series. Though you have to step up to a higher Denon model like X3600H or higher for the best version of Audyssey. The X1600H is a 2019 model and only HDMI 2.0, better to go with the S760H for its HDMI 2.1 features or wait for the new X1700H (2021 model with HDMI 2.1 - an upgraded X1600H)

Wouldn't Yamaha be coming with a new model too? I would wait and compare Denon and Yamaha. I am sure, being a new model, they will be in stock.
Even if Yamaha did, I don't have any faith in them any more. They really screwed up with the tsr700 and yes, the faulty 2.1 chips are not an exclusive to them problem, but they're not providing a good fix, and they have really had a terrible time with firmware updates for this model. My third receiver after this tsr700... Then I'll consider them again. Maybe.

So looks like S760 would be Audyssey and not Audyssey XT.On fence this from Costco with warranty and all or close the deal on a X1400 that has Audyssey XT <200 from acquaintance..X1400 doesnt have eARC .,I would love to use the native TV App for both Audio and Video

I personally dont think you'll notice a big difference between 75 watt and 100 watt, its something like 3 decibels difference.

Where the new equipment is needed for the XSX is particularly the HDMI 2.1 and the eARC. If you dont have a TV that supports HDMI 2.1 or eARC then this wont get you much. Obviously HDMI 2.1 gives you the 4k/120fps options. But in terms of sound, if you went to the TV first and used optical you wouldnt be able to get the best quality sound from the Xbox as optical is limited to lossy 5.1 (dts or dolby) or uncompressed stereo. While eARC can do uncompressed 7.1 or ATMOS from the TV to the receiver. So the only way to get HDMI 2.1 and the best audio to plug the XSX into the receiver first or go to the TV first but use eARC out.
An Xbox one let alone a series x can output Atmos over DTHD if you install the free app for it. DTSMA is likewise supported.

Would greatly appreciate the results of your test. I'm still waiting for the TV and will be a while before I get to set it all up. But I have the receiver in a box at home, and can decide either way.
When I get it hooked up I'll let you know how it goes.

I replied to that post. Costco warranty is 2 years so that negates that benefit, plus the return policy at Costco blows away Best Buy (and I'm elite plus!)

X1400 has a lot of power (145 W!!). Do you have speaker setup that will use that kind of power? Yes, It has the step up from the basic audyssey but not the night and day difference which the XT32 version provides in the high end models. Also you are stepping back to 2017 tech. At the end it all depends on your budget and the exact use case.

Picked up the S760H today and have quickly tested it with my Epson projector, running Xbox One, Roku and a Sony Blu-ray player. I'm no audiophile by any means. This is also my first Denon, let alone receiver, but this thing is awesome! I only have my front left and right speakers at the moment (Klipsch R-625FA), but they sound incredible. Set up was a breeze with Denon's on-screen assistant, HEOS/Bluetooth works great. I've read many opinions about it being an entry level receiver and worrying how it might work. Those worries are now gone. Costco in Tulsa had plenty of stock when I bought mine this afternoon. Enjoy!

I've been meaning to upgrade my old 3808CI to something newer, especially since I just got a 4K TV. I'd be going from 130 watts per channel down to 75 watts though. Is this worth it or should I save and get one of Denon's higher models once they get refreshed?

I have 2 tvs. One in house and second outside. 5.1 inside and 2 speakers outside. Can i use this receiver to watch movie using second zone outside ? (It is ok if just as duplication of zone 1 if i can control volume separately for both zones)

Bought today, and not getting the option for 4k 120hz in Windows. Rechecked both cables going directly from pc to TV, and have options for 4k 120hz. When I route through this receiver, with any of the 8K inputs, I'm limited to 4k60 or 1080p120. I'll upload a video shortly, has anyone else had any luck?

I would try an HDMI 2.1 certified cable, but also in the nVidia control panel there are "PC" resolutions and then way further down there are "TV" resolutions. On my CX I was able to get the TV 2160p @ 120hz work, but not the 3840x2160 @ 120hz. I haven't tried with this receiver yet, but I bet that is the issue.

Is it worth to upgrade from Pioneer sc-1223k to this receiver since the Pioneer doesn't support hdcp 2.3.

Totally gone. Even tried creating a custom resolution and it shows not supported. Have tried every port, no avail. I went through this when I first bought this TV and have certified, expensive hdmi2.1 cables that work perfect when going from gpu direct to TV.
