Great sub for 320. Is a SVS great for $600? Yup. Is a pb1000 great for $450? Yup. If you can swing the additional 130 for a outgoing PB1000, it's easily worth it. If you can't then this is about the best there is for $320
The One at Costco is Klipsch R-12SW which is inferior compared to this
I didn't know this was a thing, so thank you for that.

For anyone else wondering, you have to go to the user's profile to find the "ignore user" option.

Sweet. Which model? I just got a like new vtf2 MK5 for 425.
An older model, stf 2, after replacing the plate amp, it works like a charm.

I run two late 70s model Cerwin Vega 12" 3-way fronts w/ same center and rears and eliminate the need for a sub entirely!

what is difference between SB1000 and PB2000?
The SB1000 is a sealed sub with a lot less power. The only way I would recommend the sb1000 is if you were planning on using it in a small room with limited space AND it is being primarily used for music. The PB2000 is much larger and more powerful, has a deeper frequency range.

Got it from UPS on Thursday. RUUUUMMMBBBBLLEEE. Blows by 10" Yamaha out of the water. Much cleaner deeper bass, no waffling.

I get the draw, especially given all the "half price" clearance sales they have been doing the last few months. That said, Klipsch hasn't made a really great sub in about 15 years and I still refuse to trust their amps or their build quality to any degree (I've found a broken brace shoddily re-glued and left over speaker wire bits in the box). Some will disagree with me but even at this price I would find a way to scrounge up the extra hundred and at least get an RSL Speedwoofer 10s. They put far more effort into build quality and customer service.

That's only under the condition you can find the Speedwoifer in stock, they have been mostly OOS for the last 2 years. I don't have faith in a company who can't even fix their inventory problem for such a long time…

Brent Butterworth's glowing review of the bigger R115...
https://hometheaterreview.com/kli...-reviewed/

"Conclusion
The R-115SW ...competitive with practically any subwoofer on the market, yet it costs under $1,000. It does give up a little bit in power compared with its toughest competitors, but few home theater enthusiasts are likely to push their systems hard enough to discover this. And I think many audiophiles will be drawn to the R-115SW's great sense of power and punch."

Unfortunately, just like Gene at Audioholics recently noted, the plate amps in subs is where companies cut corners. All brands have plate amp failures. He's had failures in $4k subs. Based on what we've read here, if you're unlucky enough to have an amp issue, Klipsch will replace it past warranty period. You might have to be persistent. Too bad all companies can't have customer service like SVS, etc. I was watching a review of an SVS sub recently and his sub was bad out of the box, but svs shipped him the parts to repair it right away. That was like a $1300 sub.

I guess the silver lining is that it's easy to unscrew the amp to see if it has the upgraded .20 cent resistor 😂😂
If not, contact Klipsch and have them send you a new amp 👍🏼

True, the Speedwoofer is definitely a pre-order type situation, but IMHO some things are worth waiting for. I have no regrets waiting a couple of months for mine. Then again a lot of companies (ie Monoprice, HSU Research), etc. have been all having supply issues for at least the last year. Part of the reason why RSL has supply issues is because they refuse to compromise quality for the money spent. The other is that they have pretty high demand due to all the positive reviews.

I have a svs pb2000 and the amp failed within the first year. Yeah svs sent me a new amp but I had to do the repair myself and it was annoying. Now it has a muddy sound when the crossover is set to lfe. My klipsch I've had twice as long running 10x as much material and no problems. So yeah...

I love when people come into a thread to drop anecdotal information about a reason they are mad at a company from something that happened over a decade ago...

Sad but I have to agree. My 12" died after little over 2 yrs of light use so I decided to look into this and there were many who had issues with the amp. I strongly suggest you to stay away. Now I am running svs 2000 pro which rumbles and rocks my house. Fyi Klipsch's warranty only good for 2 yrs.
I have a 15" kit with 1000w Class A/b Amp that I bought from Part-Express and built it then in 2003 - Still running great after 18 years of use.
