Great sub for 320. Is a SVS great for $600? Yup. Is a pb1000 great for $450? Yup. If you can swing the additional 130 for a outgoing PB1000, it's easily worth it. If you can't then this is about the best there is for $320
The One at Costco is Klipsch R-12SW which is inferior compared to this
I didn't know this was a thing, so thank you for that.

For anyone else wondering, you have to go to the user's profile to find the "ignore user" option.

What's the reason to ignore user or whatever? My bad I don't see why.

There were 2 users having a really long winded argument that totally derailed the thread for like 3 pages of comments. It looks like their comments were removed thankfully.

It was about how room acoustics can affect a speaker/subwoofer and also peoples' definitions of words like "best", lol.
A LOT of speaker/subwoofer threads involve these debates when certain members get involved.

Basically some people define how something actually sounds like by listening, others do by reading(ie specs, measurements, science, reviews).
The latter often like to say they are correct. If you don't agree they get very upset! 🤷🏻 ♂️

Sad but I have to agree. My 12" died after little over 2 yrs of light use so I decided to look into this and there were many who had issues with the amp. I strongly suggest you to stay away. Now I am running svs 2000 pro which rumbles and rocks my house. Fyi Klipsch's warranty only good for 2 yrs.
Does it come with 5 yrs warranty?

Generally most companies offer 2 years on the amp and 5 on the driver. SVS does 5 years for both. So you do get a better amp warranty with SVS.

Same. Mine died after 2 years. Never again. Buy a decent sub with a decent warranty
I bought a SVS PB-12 nsd at a deep discount over the Klipsch to go with my Klipsch setup. The sub is truly amazing, but my amp died in less than a year. I will vouch for svs's customer service though. I emailed them on a Thursday evening about it and had a brand new amp sent to me on Saturday. For that alone I will continue purchasing their products.

Svs is well known for their excellent customer service, which is great since their products seem to have as many issues as any other brand. Luckily a lot of people have been able to get their Klipsch sub's repaired well after the warranty expires with some persistence.

Lots of ppl like kef. I found the one model I tried (q100) too bright. Measurements from various sources show their speakers do have a tipped of treble. I prefer a "warmer" sound.

Why not try the svs "prime" speakers for a 5.1 setup? They have a no hassle free 45 day in home audition period and lots of positive reviews. Seems like a no brainer.

Yes that is one of the known benefits of SVS.
I know several people that own SVS and Klipsch, can't recall any of the SVS owners having an issue.
Klipsch owners, I can recall 5 of them having an issue and wasn't seamless fix.

Every brand has a failure rate, some are just much higher. How those failures are addressed gives you a glimpse on quality.
As they say, you get what you pay for.

That is a decent budget for a 5.1 setup.
I would suggest looking around near you and listen to everything you can in order to get an idea what sounds good to you.

You are going to get a lot of people making suggestions on what sounds good but none of it will actually tell you how it will sound to you.
