It's a great router, mine has worked well for some years now. That said the 1617EVSPK goes on sale fairly regularly for not much more (~$150-170). That gets you the plunge base in addition to the fixed base.

Bought this kit a year or so back and it came looking brand new and has functioned flawlessly since then.
