Let's quickly get the usual dumb comments out of the way

"Not slick at all. My cousin's friends brothers neighbor got this same laptop 3 black Friday's ago for 11 cents less after 3 mail-in-rebates and camping out overnight on the surface of the sun"

"Ehhh. This would be a good price if it came with an RTX 3090 Ti, maybe"

"Screen is only 250 Nits, not nearly bright enough. If I ever need to use it in the middle of a supernova, I won't be able to see what's going on in my Farmville game"

"Only 8gb of RAM? PASSSSSS! You can barely run MS-DOS on that"

"Do not buy. The Graphics card only gets 100.938 watts, I'd hold out a few more years until they release a proper version that gets 100.941 watts. This underpowered card leads to frame drops every time I play the original Leisure Suit Larry."

"PASS, 5.39 pounds is way too heavy for a gaming laptop!!! I carry a 3.5 pound bowl of cheetos down into my Mom's basement every morning before I start my unpaid job as a card-carrying member of INCEL, and even that is taxing. I cannot imagine someone trying to lift 5.39 pounds, geeeeez"

I will begin by stating that I am not an experienced PC gamer so take this from the perspective of your average consumer only. I purchased this laptop and the Dell 15 Inspiron Gen 11 i7 within the last couple of months.

Used the AMEX $100 off Dell and an extra $1 per mile. I'm incredibly impressed with this laptop. I have the 3050ti version and I've already upgraded the RAM to 32 GB (2x16) and added an additional 1TB NVMe SSD (with a $10 adapter from Amazon to install).

Even though you have to have the large power supply plugged in for great gaming performance, I still plug into my thunderbolt dock with USB-C to push to my 43" 4k monitor. I also keep it at an angle on a laptop fan stand when docked for gaming. You can press the G button to turn on the Alienware high-performance gaming mode which does indeed accelerate the fans, and it is noticeable without headphones or sound system, but I don't play without either.

I use public transportation (bus) to and from work, and I travel, and this laptop is not too large to where it gets in the way or feels awkward (which is what I would expect for like a 17")

Uh battery life, the gaming experience would suck with a 3050/ti, and this is a budget laptop. Even finding a quality 1080p display is tough these days on budget laptops and you want a QHD in one?

Will this be the Dell model & specs going for around $500-$600 on Black Friday?
Or Lenovo Legion 5 too with same specs?
Kind of the entry level gaming laptop(s) of 2021.

Seems like a decent price regardless for ~6 weeks out if you need something sooner.

Does anybody know if this model supports Thunderbolt dock? The description states that RTX 3060 has Thunderbolt support but this laptop comes with RTX 3050.

Based on what we know about the Steam Deck, this would be more powerful. Of course, it's not as portable, and the screen isn't going to look as nice.

That description is correct...only RTX 3060 models support TB4.

I think you missed the display resolution complain

Yakkkk... ONLY 1080p screen....is this 1800 or what? Even my dad's great Grandfather's uncle, just after the Civil War, used 8K displays and that too, he found very lower for his eyes and was able to count each pixel individually.

I have the 5800 version and I'll second this. The build quality looks cheap even at twice the price.

Plus mine feels like it's going to melt through my desk. I'm getting high temps just web browsing then up to 96-98C using photo editing.

I opened a return. Not a fan. (No pun)

Also this is an apples to oranges reply I just had... same outside components.. different internals. So if anyone is replying to me... keep that in mind. This model could be fine.
