OFFER TERMS
Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid for in-store and online eligible purchases at U.S. Supermarkets. An "eligible purchase" means a purchase made with your enrolled Card at a U.S. supermarket location by 12/31/2021. "Supermarket" means a standalone merchant in the U.S. primarily selling supermarket products. Excludes gasoline purchases and gift card purchases. Specialty Food Stores, Superstores, and Warehouse Clubs are not considered Supermarket stores. Offer is non-transferable. Once you add the offer to your eligible Card, you must spend a minimum of $200 in one or more eligible US transactions by the last day of each calendar month to be considered eligible for a one-time statement credit. You may receive the one-time statement credit, up to 3 times (for up to 3 months of monthly minimum spend) during the offer period. Your ability to redeem will reset on the first day of each calendar month and end on the last day of the same calendar month until 12/31/2021. Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member per monthly spend and 3 statement credits per Card Member per offer period (total of $30). An "eligible transaction" means one or more US purchases made in a calendar month with your enrolled Card on or before 12/31/2021 totaling at least $200. You may not receive the statement credit if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as eligible for the offer. For example, you may not receive the statement credit if (a) the Merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the Merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet. Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. Your transaction will not qualify if the merchant's code is not eligible. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date). Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/2021, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account. The enrolled Card account must be active, not past due, canceled, or have a returned payment outstanding to receive statement credit. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Amex Offers are dynamic and personalized, so the offers you see may change. For questions regarding your Card Account, please call the number on the back of your Card. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer.

Never.
Purchased gift cards weekly basis in Kroger/TomThumb with Amex card, Amex always counted for grocery stores bonus for me.
Even though, the T&C says "gift card" purchases are Excluded, but the AMEX has no easy way to know you checked out groceries with gift cards.

Gelson's
Hy-Vee
Kings Food Markets
Meijer

*This is not a complete list.

Examples of merchants where you will NOT earn additional rewards include:

Specialty stores (e.g. bakeries, butchers, cheese shops, fish markets, liquor stores, wine shops, and other specialty food stores)
Superstores (e.g. Amazon, Target and Walmart)
Warehouse clubs (e.g. BJ's Club)

How would they be able to tell especially if you bought other stuff with gift cards?
They can't. Gift card purchases always an OK for AMX offers. Keep it this way, never call to confirm.

Spent around $210 between Aldi and Neighborhood Walmart (which I know from past experience counts as a supermarket) in Oct. No $10 credit yet. Wondering if Aldi is the problem?
I got the statement credit for October (when I didn't use the card at WNM,) but haven't received the credit yet for November (when I did use the card at WNM.)

And I agree about WNM counting as a grocery store. I have a BCE card and it's still getting the bonus CB rate that grocery stores get.

I called AmEx about my missing credit. The rep read out my qualifying transactions and WNM was fine, but apparently a different, Kroger, inc. purchase didn't ID as a triggering charge...even though it got me the 3% BCE CB as usual AND had qualified just fine for October.

BCE is giving you 3% on groceries and this stacks -- so 8% on $200 spend for you. Somewhat hotter...
I had a similar spend $100 get $5 back up to 3 months, just completed it today. Also interesting it's "total spend", so you don't need to knock it out in one go and could do a $80 and a $120 spend to hit the $200 goal. I stacked with BCE, a $25 turkey card from work, and the Guiness deal that was posted here this week Smilie

Why is this so much exciting? Isn't this like 5% cash back with max $600 spend in a quarter?
