I've got this headset, it's excellent even at the original price. I have a crap ton of headphones and this one more than holds it's own for music and of course gaming.

Open back (my preference but some may want closed).

Fantastic mic as well. Mutes when you swing the mic up.

Most audiophile reviewers rave about this. Hard to trust the overly positive reviews.

This might be another good review to balance out the rave reviews.

Been looking for a pair a gaming headset. Would this be better or worse then the wired steel series Arctic, or the rayzer black shark v2 ?

I have had them for 6+ months. Fantastic for gaming or music. Use them on consoles and PC.

Someone on discord the other day said: "what the hell are you using? That is the clearer mic I have ever heard"

I have the PC 37X and have had them for a few years. Amazing headset. The only issue is the volume dial. it will eventually go bad and cause issues. to fix it you can either replace the dial which is a pain in the ass or just bridge 3 solder spots to bypass the volume dial. I did the bridge. Took about 10 minutes.

...but it is wired. Who uses headsets tied to a wire anymore? How inconvenient.
People who want good audio quality. Wireless headset mics suck. This is the best option for good audio quality(in and out) without having a dedicated mic set up.

Can you elaborate on this?
I think what he meant to say was, the sale price is a total of $50 off the MSRP.
It's currently on sale for $40 off the MSRP + additional $10 off for new users or with the coupon making it $129 = $50 off.

Are these good music cans too? I need a new headset, my very basic headset for zoom meetings is showing some wear and tear. Thought about getting a more serious headset, for gaming at least, but buying some decent headphones too would be nice. This could be a 2-in-1 solution.
They're tuned for gaming (give better positional sound) rather than music. Music will still sound great on them, but you may not notice as much of a benefit when listening to masters as you would with headphones designed for music. If you want the better positional audio for gaming and tend to just keep music on in the background during the day, these are *fantastic* headphones! If you're mixing music professionally and just play games casually to unwind, you'll probably want to give these a pass.

This is worth getting a second pair. Excellent for gaming. The bass is perfect. Slightly compressed but not bad at all. Good for music as well. The mic is also good.

They are not as good as the HD58X or the HD6XX from Drop in terms of music but the addition of the microphone is important

If you read or watch reviews comparing the HD58X and the PC38X they will state that the HD58X is great for music but not so much for gaming, specifically footsteps.

The reviewers state that the PC38X is far superior for footstep/FPS/most games but does not hold a candle to even the HD58x let alone the HD6XX.

If a microphone is important to you (if you are using it for zoom meetings), then i would say grab the PC38X

If you are looking for a pair of headphones to enjoy music with, i would go with the HD58X or the HD6XX and just sticking to your current pair of headphones for work.

My gf works from home so I bought her a pair of these Logitech headphones for $85 on eBay - they retail for $125 but the noise cancelling mic is insanely good.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/18435899...Sw0ctfB6Tl

The headphones are ON EAR not AROUND EAR like these PC38X but the microphone is superior to most headsets out there. You can watch review of the Logitech headset i linked on youtube and hear the microphone quality.

I could listen to music and use the blender in the next room and no customers or coworkers mentioned they could hear anything to my gf.

You have to watch for sales but if you can grab the Logitech headset for work and the HD58x for music - you would pay a bit more.

Logitech headset for work at $89 + HD58X for between $115-120 when on sale is roughly $200.

Id highly encourage you to watch youtube reviews for these headphones before you make your decision - they are well informed reviews that go in depth about music vs gaming vs microphone quality.

Best of luck
