not sure what this has to do with the sale. no one is asking you to fly or your opinion on flying. this form is for the deal.

Hi all, thanks for the advice. Started chat with costco.com online. Got to them within a minute, told them if they could give me code for 50$ off $500. They provided me with one. Bought two Southwest cards and got a 50$ off. That gives me a 1000$ southwest gift card for 850$

Further, since I am executive, I get 2% back from costco and I also get 2% from my credit card company which gives 34$.

Final deal: $816 for a 1000$ southwest card.
That's a 22% deal. If I assumed index funds give me 10% every year, I better use up these southwest credits within 2 years for a good ROI on my upfront loading of credits. I think I will.

Actually, if you choose "Early Check In" you will incur a $25 charge which cannot be put on the GC. Been there, done that many times.

The first Costco rep refuse to give me the discount code, state their promotion ended on Sep 29.
I return to chat with a different rep and after identifying my address & phone number, she gave me the $50 off $500 purchase.

Giant Eagle has $250 southwest card for $200. Means you can have $500 card for $400. On top you get 6% fuel perks (for instance $500 gift card you can have $30 worth of fuel). It has stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, and Maryland

Check the flight cost, if it is the same or less, cancel and rebook assuming that you can refund back to your credit card. I've done this a few times when I see a cheaper price.
