Are there any major differences in quality between Bessey, Jorgensen and Jet? I know the accessories aren't compatible so I wanted some opinions before I commit to one brand. Thanks!

I assume the extenders are not compatible but what other accessories wouldn't fit? I have a few Jet parallels and don't want to invest in another brand with potential problems

I've got Bessey, Irwin, and Jorgensen... I'm an avid hobbyist, not a professional and they all work perfectly for though the Irwin are much heavier and do not stand well without some supports. Many complain about Bessey not being parallel but my 24" are perfect.

I have somewhere between 60 and 70 parallel clamps in my shop. Jet and Bessey. Jet has a trigger/lever that needs to be squeezed to move the clamp head. It binds and catches and fights me on every single clamp. You have to feather the trigger JUST RIGHT to get it to move at all.

Bessey works smoother and more consistent. Their accessories are better than anyone else, too. I never use my Jet's unless I run out of Besseys on a job.

Yes! The 2 jet I have seem to always bind when I'm trying to slide the bottom up or down. Glad it's not just me

Yeah I have about 10 Jet parallel clamps. Only positive of it is I bought all of them when they used to do the buy 1 get 1 free deal every black Friday.

But are your Irwins and Jorgensens parallel? My Irwin 48" and the Jorgensen cabinet masters I checked at Lowes were far from parallel, but the Bessey K-Body Revolution I saw at Home Depot were dead on.

I've been searching for a bit now and most commonly people rank them either all equal or Jet best, then Jorgensen, then Bessey and then a "significant" gap between Jorgensen/Bessey and the next best. Some people say the Bessey are better than Jorgensen, I guess you could call them equal and Jet a little better. Seems like the Bessey REVO Jrs aren't as good as the regular REVOs though.

I remember seeing someone claim that there were rebranded Jet clamps sold as not well known brands but I'm not sure if that is true.

Torquata is supposedly a rebranded Jet clamp

I have Bessey, Irwin, and Jorgensen. In general theirs not a huge difference and they all will get the job done. With that said the Bessey to me feel like the lowest quality and the Jorgensen the highest. I would recommend any of the three but would highly recommend the Jorgensen as to me they feel the easiest to use which saves time and hassle while setting up.

I have 8 of these clamps – 4 24" and 4 40" – and I really like them. Easy to operate and plenty of clamping pressure. I think my next purchase will be some 12" or 18" clamps of the same brand.

Pro-tip though: don't let glue get on the actual bars of these clamps. It hinders the sliding side of the clamp and makes it difficult to adjust. And cleaning them is incredibly difficult. Put some blue tape on the bars under your glue joints and just peel it off for easy cleanup.

Not in the same category really but for most jobs, pipe clamps are what I use. Super cheap, easy to change lengths, etc.

What are these clamps used for? Just curious given the price is high for a set of clamps.

I would probably rank Jorgensen and Jet about equal and Bessey 3rd. I know there are issues with Bessey's being out of square/not parallel. I don't own any Bessey's so I can't comment on that.

As for the Jets, the trigger does seem finicky and it's not easy to maneuver with one hand, which often times you are doing when you are doing a glue up. I have both old and new Jet clamps and they all seem to do it. Not a deal breaker, just annoying.
