Bought this during Vitamix days, it's awesome. Blends well, less mess pour, easier to clean, looks great on display. Might be a little quieter with frozen fruit, not 100% sure need to pay better attention next time.

It was sold out for most of the sale. I ended up price matching it with Best Buy and they honored it. I think I just got lucky.

closest things i found when searching:
1. this is available for "those who prefer a stainless option" to the plastic one
2. doesn't visibly scratch when blending "grains, herbs, seeds etc" (which i have never even *considered* doing so i have no idea...)
3. looks fairly cool(?)

Yeah. I'd suspect it's for those that are concerned about plastic. But stainless vs glass is interesting. It does look very cool tho.

lol I thought it can do soups too. I'd get this stainless one but f*(k $165? The hard plastic one I have looked like crap no matter how many times I polish it but still functions. Some of the parts on it look like they'd last a lifetime. Idk what they expect people to do with it because trashing it doesn't feel right. They should have a trade-in program or something.

Tips on polishing?

The third thing we did on our vitamix was a lemon pound cake and I zested straight into the container. It all landed on the inside wall near the spout and it's all hazy looking now. = (

It's the acid that destroys the hard plastics. Mine started after noticing a slight odor so I did a couple of diluted vinegar and dish soap cycles until the odor went away. Ever since then anything I blend takes a little more wiping with the nonabrasive pad or sponge I use, and it's come down to using a plastic-type sponge underwater to get the residue off when it builds up. But the tiny nooks near the blade never seem to get absolutely clean without a slight vinegar wash to keep it odor-free and clear for quite a while. So with slow degradation of the jar, but not the hardware, I'm now considering a wet sanding technique on the jar to see if it brings it back to a sealed surface like-new. Vitamix really should offer some kind of refurbishing service or system because the quality is there to last a lifetime with a couple of serviceable parts. I hope they don't go the way of most corporations and keep driving capitalism off a cliff with short-lifespan products..
