About this deal:
Monster Hunter Rise (Nintendo Switch) is $20 less (33.33% savings) than the $59.99 list price.
I'm not an expert, but it's probably the most accessible version of Monster Hunter. You're trying to kill or capture different things, upgrade your armor and weaponry. The new feature in the game makes the terrain a lot more accessible and more fun.
EDIT: Maybe you were thinking of Generations or maybe Stories 2 for the mixed opinion?
Solid deal. Also $30 used at gamefly

Is this game any fun? Has mixed reviews. Never played the series before
It's not for everyone. The entire gameplay loop is basically grinding enemies over and over for better loot to make better equipment so that you can fight stronger monsters and stronger reiterations of previous monsters.
I was just playing this today actually. It is a great MH game (given I've only played 3, 4, and World) and the wirebugs are awesome for movement.
However, if you have a capable PC you might just want to wait until January for it there. Likely won't be cross-progression, and the Switch performance is not great.
Got this deal in store yesterday. The store said it is only online but it will price match since I am a PRO member (for real?). I also traded in MH Stories 2 plus used my $5 month coupon. Still trying to get a hang on the control. Keep accidentally using the potions.
