I have been on this plan for about 2 to 3 months now. Here's my experience with it:

First off, I've received two gateway receivers from them. The first one seemed to act up a lot, and a lot of the cons are based on the first device. The second one I received seems to have significantly less problems, but YMMV. The gateway device (or 5G grey trashcan as some people call it) is pretty much a modem and a wifi router combined.

PROS:
When configured correctly, speeds can hit up to 270 mbps downloading
Configuring device is pretty simple out of the box
Price is really cheap

CONS:
Speeds fluctuate depending on time of day
If technicians are working on specific towers, my internet can be completely down until it is fixed, which could take up to a day
Changing SSID or SSID PW does not always stick and will reset to default ID and PW
Gateway gets hot sometimes and needs to be restarted for it to work properly. To mitigate the workload, I've connected my own wifi router to the gateway, and used my own router to do the wifi processing. It seems to help a lot in preventing restarts.
There are only 2 lan ports on the gateway, but you can still connect a wifi router to the lan ports and get it to work that way.
Customer service is in India, and sometimes takes a really long time to get to someone. I've had to call multiple times to get something fixed or replaced. It gets frustrating.

RECOMMENDATION:
If you have cable or fios, I recommend sticking to it as the speeds tend to be more reliable. If you're in rural areas but get good speeds with T-Mobile, then it's worth considering to switch. When I first got T-Mobile Home Internet, my area was still having problems with reliable service, and I think it was due to the towers here. However, after the gateway replacement, and probably the tower upgrades, it seems to be a lot more stable now. In the end, it's YMMV based on your towers.

I'm very happy with ours. 287 down, 28 up just now. Usually we get 100-150 down and 15-20 up.

I've had as fast as 400 down.

I was thinking about this but after some research I learned with this service you're locked out of a bridge mode so you can't add a mesh router, configure DNS. Also depending on where you live you could get downloads up to 400mbps or down to 50mbps or even down to 100kbps-500kbps. I hope people who go with this have positive experiences

Ouch… Why would they do it?
Is it due to CG-NAT, which it ridiculous...?

Additionally, if you run a personal server, game (XBox Live can't get open nat mode I've heard), or otherwise need port forwarding, you will be out of luck on TMo home due to CG-NAT. If you search "plex cg-nat tmobile" or swap "xbox" in for "plex", you'll see lots of tales of woe.
That's not funny, if you ask me.
TMO has tons on IPv4 available obviously, there in absolutely no need CG-NAT.
IPSec VPN won't work with it, AFAIR.
But it's gotta be a way to opt out of it, right?
I assume IPv6 is available too, but Verizon FIOS and many other ISPs hate it...

There are workarounds to this problem. You can find the equivalent of what a DDNS gets you, where the device on your LAN establishes an idle connection with a server that has a DNS-able IP. The client outside of your LAN trying to connect to the server in your LAN would then initiate the connection through the DDNS-like proxy/server, which would then request (through its already alive connection) that the LAN server initiate a connection to your device.

Essentially, like reverse tunneling, but without the need to tunnel all of the data, just the handshaking protocol.

Addressing the heat issue. I'm not sure on that as others had suggested putting a fan under it.

So from the get go I've had a fan under and over on mine and it's never had a heat issue.

I also totally disabled the WiFi.

But for rural internet. It is a game changer.

We have both it and starlink. I had been using starlink as my primary, but now I have T-Mobile as primary.

As far as fiber goes. Century link is willing to run it to me. 100 symmetrical quote was over $1000/mo with a 3 year commitment.

Same two fans one bottom one top. Disabled WiFi (there are like 10 settings to toggle), connect LAN to my Deco.

so if my phone is getting 500x100 over 5g, can I expect the same speeds over this? Full layer cake bands?
Also ping on my phone is 20-60ms (sprint sim). Would it be the same or worse with the router box?

Our ISP is 200x10 for $75, but I do get a low 5ms ping. the 10 up feels too low, but I haven't quite noticed it as a bottleneck yet..

Every company has identity security issues if you read up.

Cool. Seems pretty competitive
Not available anywhere near me but if you have access then that price is decent. AT &T has a similar program for RVs that you can use at home . I think those programs run about $80 or $90 per month. And there are third party vendors that sell grandfathered ATT unlimited data accounts for about $60 to $90 per month but I have t checked prices in a while.
