I have been on this plan for about 2 to 3 months now. Here's my experience with it:

First off, I've received two gateway receivers from them. The first one seemed to act up a lot, and a lot of the cons are based on the first device. The second one I received seems to have significantly less problems, but YMMV. The gateway device (or 5G grey trashcan as some people call it) is pretty much a modem and a wifi router combined.

PROS:
When configured correctly, speeds can hit up to 270 mbps downloading
Configuring device is pretty simple out of the box
Price is really cheap

CONS:
Speeds fluctuate depending on time of day
If technicians are working on specific towers, my internet can be completely down until it is fixed, which could take up to a day
Changing SSID or SSID PW does not always stick and will reset to default ID and PW
Gateway gets hot sometimes and needs to be restarted for it to work properly. To mitigate the workload, I've connected my own wifi router to the gateway, and used my own router to do the wifi processing. It seems to help a lot in preventing restarts.
There are only 2 lan ports on the gateway, but you can still connect a wifi router to the lan ports and get it to work that way.
Customer service is in India, and sometimes takes a really long time to get to someone. I've had to call multiple times to get something fixed or replaced. It gets frustrating.

RECOMMENDATION:
If you have cable or fios, I recommend sticking to it as the speeds tend to be more reliable. If you're in rural areas but get good speeds with T-Mobile, then it's worth considering to switch. When I first got T-Mobile Home Internet, my area was still having problems with reliable service, and I think it was due to the towers here. However, after the gateway replacement, and probably the tower upgrades, it seems to be a lot more stable now. In the end, it's YMMV based on your towers.

I'm very happy with ours. 287 down, 28 up just now. Usually we get 100-150 down and 15-20 up.

I've had as fast as 400 down.

I was thinking about this but after some research I learned with this service you're locked out of a bridge mode so you can't add a mesh router, configure DNS. Also depending on where you live you could get downloads up to 400mbps or down to 50mbps or even down to 100kbps-500kbps. I hope people who go with this have positive experiences

Previously it was a pilot program

Cool. Seems pretty competitive

Additionally, if you run a personal server, game (XBox Live can't get open nat mode I've heard), or otherwise need port forwarding, you will be out of luck on TMo home due to CG-NAT. If you search "plex cg-nat tmobile" or swap "xbox" in for "plex", you'll see lots of tales of woe.

i got the tmo internet plan way back when they were still sort of beta testing it to limited customers @ 50/month . at that time the dl speeds were outstanding (i.e. over 100mbps) with the closest tower at less than half a mile from our place.

however, that all changed and went south real fast after they launched the product to the public this year @ 60/month. our dl speeds went to a crawling halt @ no more than 5mpbs YES, that's FIVE MBPS Frown

tmo support & tech people did all they could (i.e. send me another router, trouble shoot settings, countless reboots/resets, cell site tech checks, etc...), until i had to cancel. it was a good few months of high speed low cost internet, but yea, it's too good to be consistently true!

edit: i dont hate tmo, i've been a tmo customer with a grandfathered all unlimited cell plan for 6 lines and paying only 120+/month. i just think that they're home internet product is at the infancy stage and nowhere near competitive in real world urban settings.

Good lord that's slow
Thanks for your input. =( Why don't you add why you think it's slow with a couple examples.. blah blah blah.. Just saying it's slow doesn't add anything to the conversation.
I wish I could switch Internet carriers but my area only has one high-speed Internet option. 100/25 @ $50 is cheap compared to what I'm paying now. What latency are you guys getting?

Pretty sure it's always been like this or has been like this for at least last few months. $60 regular and $50 with autopay. Not sure where the deal is at with this.

Exactly. I signed my mother up for T-Mobile home internet in June for $50 with autopay. It's been good for her needs. Only issue is Google smart speakers constantly disconnect from wifi. I might plug in a separate wifi router.
