The main difference between the two, besides the bezels, is that the iPad 2021 has an air gap screen and the iPad Air has a laminated screen. It has better colors and your finger/pen is closer to the digital content. Is it worth the extra cash if you're just browsing the internet and checking mail? Not really. But I think the laminated screen is one of the best creature comforts, more-so than ProMotion.

At this price, yeah. But also it depends.

The air is close to a Pro 11" in a lot of ways. So for productivity uses it's a pretty great value. But the Air does not have the newer generation 12MP ultra wide front facing cameras. That's a big deal if you want to do a lot of FaceTime calls, and perhaps in the future Apple will open that capability up to zoom and other apps. Even if they don't, having that better quality camera and wider angle view is a big benefit in itself.

That's every Apple upgrade, boost it up 100 to 200 bucks. I remember when the 400 Ipad Air I have with Wifi-Cellular was 400-600 bucks. Apple products price range has expanded more than the Marvel Universe.

It drives me nuts that the WiFi versions don't have a GPS chip and you have to pay an additional $150+ for the cellular version.
