This Louisiana Grill deal just came back today. There might be some available in stores. I called a few in the Dallas area and they said there aren't any in Texas, so all online here.

If it is indeed basically a Pit Boss, this is a nice grill for $300. If you haven't tried a pellet grill and you're on the fence, the convenience may be something to win you over. I love being able to simply plug it in, turn it on, set the temp knob, and walk away while it heats up. Then you don't have to babysit it while cooking. Being able to get real wood flavor so easily almost feels like cheating. Almost.
Also, is this a good entry level smoker for someone who has never owned one?
If you want something more versatile, a pellet grill may be a better option. With one like this or a Pit Boss you can smoke and due true low-and-slow BBQ or turn up the heat and do direct grilling. This would be jack of all trades that's pretty good at multiple types of cooking rather than just being a good smoker. Also good if you'd like an easy way to experiment with different woods.
