Costco Wholesale has for its Members: Apple Mac mini w/ Apple M1 Chip Shipping is free. The price is valid 10/10/21 through 10/15/21. Limit 2 per member.

I stacked with the $40 shop card and the $40 off $250 code from new membership, the total came down to $519.99 before tax. Rumor says Apple will update M1 chip Mac mini with M1X chip for a high-end version, which is a overshoot for me. Each to their own.

8 GB RAM is pure long-term folly when coupled with soldered flash storage. But it does bring with it planned obsolescence.
Yes, 8 GB RAM is pretty minimal. However, the Apple universe is not a RAM hog like Windows based OS. This has been covered Ad nauseam and I'm not sure what the point is of bringing it up in every Apple deal.

Good price but I'd prefer a sale on the 16gb version personally.

Most people do nothing more than surf the web or use Microsoft Suite of apps. People that need a high amount of ram are those that game (Which you aren't buying a Mac to do) or video editing (which those that do that for a living aren't looking at the base model of anything)

This product will work fine for a decade for most people.

Not for nothing, my decade-old Macbook Pro still (sorta*) works because I could and did upgrade it to 16GB. I think it came with 4GB in 2011.

*broken dedicated graphics card due to manufacturing defect and discontinuation of OS support.

I "upgraded" from an early 2012 to a certified refurb 2015 MBPro from eBay with 2-year Allstate warranty. Best Mac laptop ever made, and still supported. I'm happy for a few years. Loaded, 16GB RAM, and upgradeable SSD.

Scour ebay like i did? Haha ultrafine 5k for 700. But yea retail for 1300 is insanity and the 4k isnt bad but honestly the mid tier imac with base storage and 16gb is a good deal for the screen alone (check official refurbs)
