Data transfer speeds. If you're planning on filling the card up it may matter. I just bought a 1TB card for the switch and went with U3. It's more expensive but faster.

From a quick google search..
As the first upgrade from normal high-speed specification, the UHS-1 SD card provides a fast transfer speed that can rate up to 104MB/s. It is specified in SD card version 3.01 that supports a clock frequency of 100 MHz.

Compared with UHS-1 mode, UHS-3 adds a second row of pins. UHS-3 specification was introduced in earlier 2017. It provides a higher transfer speed that can rate up to 312MB/s. Besides, UHS-3 is designed with two lanes and LVDS technology that greatly improves the SD card performance.

Lowest price in Amazon history per CamelCamelCamel. Deal of the day though, so you would have to be relatively quick to get it at this price.

yes, but the switch (and many other devices) only supports UHS-1.

note that U1 and U3 are a different thing than UHS-1 and UHS-3. "U" is a speed rating. "UHS" is a technology.

Up to 120MB/s read speed, and no maximum write speed listed. Highly suspect, it must be bad if they don't want to advertise it.

Wonder if the new OLED Switch supports the faster U3/UHS-3.

Also, what's the average space taken up by one game? First-time switch buyer (OLED) and not sure what size I'll eventually need.

I always use an USB PC port to open pictures on a SD card before deciding whether to upload to cloud, etc. With the Canon R5, I can't scroll through pictures (10-25 MB JPGs) without significant lag in the MS Photo Viewer. Anyone know if this is due to data speeds of the SD card or something else? My cards are at 100
MB/s max read speed. Thanks.
