I use the 970 evo plus and I researched it before, I concluded that it was better than the SN750 (chipset wise and etc.)

Reminder, Gen3 not compatible with PS5
Hynix P31 Gold has been on sale for $245, and was 225 from last sale with even better performance and solid 1200 TB TDW. I would highly recommend avoid any WD ssd products given their shameful misconduct of switching parts in products from both their premium line and cheap line without renaming the product. Be aware!

Is a heatsink recommended for desktop and laptop or just for PS5?

It all depends on your motherboard. Some motherboards have a built in heat sink that covers the drive so you can't use a heatsink. For example Z490 Gigabyte Master. If it doesn't have a built in heat sink, I would recommend getting an aftermarket one at least.

I got the SN850 2TB for the exact price with taxes. Just call bestbuy and order it through the phone. Make sure you mention the extra 15% off and they will honor it.

What do you tell them? That you just want a lower price? It's 300+ on their website

How does mentioning the 15% take off almost $100 on the SN850?

This or 970 Evo Plus at pretty much the same price? Looking to update the drive in my ROG 14 laptop.

Hopefully one or more of these 2TB Gen 3 drives will hit $200 or lower on BF.
