My Costco had the Wagyu Ribeye for half off yesterday. I was tempted at the original $100/lb price, but finally grabbed some this time.

This is the Superior, CO store. Seems like some stores are already out of stock and others aren't on clearance yet. For those with stock at full price, I'm guessing they'll go on clearance at some point soon. The * on the price tag means it is discontinued and will no longer be restocked, so for stores with no stock you might be out of luck. The price ending in .97 means it's a manager special, so other stores with stock may or may not follow suit unfortunately.

This item doesn't appear to be on the Costco website so the required link is to an older deal when this first showed up in stores.

You can make homemade wagyu with any steak for super cheap.
This is something the Wagyu industry DOES NOT want you to know!

1) Trim off the fat pieces and make a small pile
2) For every slice of steak, also eat a small chunk of fat
3) Masticate thoroughly together in your mouth
4) Spit back out onto plate and form a ball shape with your hands
5) Repeat until you have neatly formed everything into balls
6) Reheat cast iron pan and sizzle all balls
7) Enjoy homemade wagyu that is delicious and cheap

Just went to the grocery store and picked up some New York strips at $4.99 a pound. Looking at this I could get 10 lb.

What grade were the strips? There's a noticeable difference between Choice and Prime steak. I've never had wagyu -- I imagine it's significantly better.

They were choice. Honestly I can't tell the difference between prime and choice. They both taste the same to me. This one says it's grass-fed, we can take that with a grain of salt because nobody really knows if it is. A large part of it depends on how you cook it too.

Dollar Tree is better. It has more wagyu in it.
