"eSUN's PLA+ filament is one of the most well known PLA+ options. According to the company, the filament's main advantage is superior layer bonding. Their recommended printing settings are 205-225 °C for the nozzle and 60-70 °C for the print bed.
Users praise eSun's PLA+ for its glossy finish, and they say it has very consistent properties throughout all the spool, which makes for consistent and quality printing. As the name implies, PLA Plus is a type of "enhanced" PLA. There is no standard method for this enhancement is achieved. In fact, different brands may market their enhanced PLA filaments in different ways. One brand's "PLA Plus" may be equivalent to another brand's "PLA Pro"
No matter the name, a PLA Plus filament represents a premium type of PLA. This typically manifests via enhanced strength, improved heat stability, better layer adhesion, and superior visual appearance. The benefit of working with a PLA Plus filament is that you get all these upgrades while mostly retaining the ease-of-use that standard PLA has been known for.

However, there is no enforced standard or minimum benchmark for PLA+ so there's nothing stopping companies from simply using it as a marketing ploy. It's similar to having "heavy duty" printed on a dollar store screwdriver that is most certainly not heavy duty in the slightest.
If you're buying filament from well known brands that offer both PLA and PLA+ options, there's a good chance there will be some added benefit to their PLA+. However, keep in mind that there's nothing stopping less reputable companies from just slapping a plus label on their regular PLA and selling it for more money.
