Just FYI, this is a one time use ladder so practicing with it for a fire drill is a no go (as opposed to the first alert one which can be reused).

I put the answer in the Q&A section but I'll copy below as well:

What this fundamentally means is that the manufacturer certifies the performance of the ladder for a single use. It's not a tissue, but if you're seeking an escape ladder you can regularly unpack, use and re-pack as part of a practice fire drill select for a model designed for re-use. I personally own the X-IT emergency ladder specifically for that reason.

Ladder steps are sharp. When collapsed on hardwood floor, can scratch the floor. Carpets should be fine.

Strange indeed when rated at 1,000lbs for a one time use. I guess whoever gets out the window first is the one saved.
