What makes this a slightly better deal than the $99 offers of the past is the little tool right in the middle of the picture. That is the depth gauge which would run you a minimum of $25. That means you get the triangular pad and sandpaper and box as freebies. That is if you want/can use them.
.
This also has a better 2amp battery and the slightly better DCB112 charger, where the C1 kit comes with a DCB107 charger. With the kit box, extra blades and adapter with sandpaper, depth gauge, none of which are cheap, it is a better deal than the $99 C1 sale.

This tool with the battery and charger often sells for $99. This kit has a few extra blades and some sandpaper, so maybe that's worth $25, but I don't think this is nearly as epic as they claim.

This is good deal. For comparison it's a little more than the all time low of $112 earlier this year from MaxTool, but that didn't last long and wasn't directly sold by Amazon. I know people were worried about it being refurbished but I ended up getting one and it was a legit brand new kit. Enjoy it a lot and the depth gauge is really handy!

Thanks this helps a lot. I got in on the Lowe's $99 deal but it looks like they sent me a refurb. I'm going to return it and get this set.
Are you positive the charger and battery are better? The other charger felt like a hollow piece of garbage. My previous experience is with Ryobi and their chargers are solid and hefty.

Wasn't that the Atomic and not the XR with speed selection
Wasn't that the Atomic and not the XR with speed selection
Normally HD sells the atomic with 2ah and Lowes sells the Original XR no speeds with 1.5ah batt
DeWalt has 3 models of multi tools..... Dcs354 atomic, dcs355 XR and newest dcs356 XR with 3 speed. The only way to get the depth gauge is this particular kit other than buying the 3 parts separate

+$25
Sanding Tool
Sandpaper
Depth Gauge
plastic case
+0.5ah battery (2ah vs 1.5ah)
Faster charger
I think this is a slicker deal than the Lowes.

Sorry, I have not been on here. Yes, this is a better deal and I still have two of the $99 deals new in the box from last Christmas. Not sure why I did not return them, but probably from Home Depot that is about 60 miles. I read someplace on here where this deal was even a bit cheaper with shipping, but no guarantee it will happen again.

Did some more research and watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI1BjO3
The Lowes deal came with the DCB107 charger. This one comes with the DCB112 charger. Only one difference: faster charge times.
DCB 107: 1.5ah battery 1:10 min, 2ah 1:30, 3ah: 2:20, 4ah: 3:05
DCB112: 1.5ah battery 0:45 min, 2ah 0:60, 3ah 1:30, 4ah: 2:00
So summary:
+$25

Sandpaper
Depth Gauge
plastic case
