Given you can find similar specs with cash back bonuses and no rebate I would pass.

You can get the L5P with 8% cash back from walmart if you are willing to keep refreshing for about an hour or just check during your spare time. Unless you have a specific use case for the 5900hx, most people are not going to notice any difference compared to the 5800h. If this was not a rebate, it would be a decent deal. But having to pay tax on the rebate amount and then risk the rebate sucks. Plus dealing with Newegg on returns sucks if you have a dead/stuck pixel....

While the walmart L5 Pro does get restocked every once in a while, just refreshing all day still doesn't assure you of one. The same applies for all gpus, PS5 etc.

Newegg's new return policy supposedly allows buyer's remorse free returns without restocking fees. But yeah, getting the rebate rejected will probably suck.

Looks good. Got the Legion 5 3060 full ish power card, $1200 micro center deal a month ish ago though... [and I did randomly visit the Walmart L5 pro site the other day and it was the normal $1500 ish price in-stock]

It only has a 230w power supply so it seems the rtx 3070 is not running at the high end power requirement. Most laptops with the high power rtx 3070 are 300w or greater drawing 130w for the gpu.

So the biggest tradeoffs between this thing and the Legion 5 Pro are going to be the build. This is a lot lighter, almost a full pound. That tells me that it's likely to feel flimsier with a lot more plastics and less chassis bracing, possibly less material in the heat sink as well.

The other thing is the display - the L5P display is way better. 16:10 as well as a much higher resolution.
