It's a good practice to always question the man, but a $15,000 cable testing device is pretty straightforward and speaks for itself. I'm looking forward to a follow-up on more cables/brands, seeing as how the majority of the time you're just taking the seller's word for it when it comes to the quality of cables.

Not sure if I would trust Monoprice cables. Linus recently did a cable testing video and their DP cable didn't pass the test. Not to say all Monoprices cables suck, but I'd be cautious when buying, or at least until more testing is done.

I started questioning this guy, after he started criticizing audiophiles without knowing what he was saying.

He's a gamer, and gamers can be a think they know it all, warped, tempermental, motley crew...

The last 2 purchases I made from monoprice were good (one being hdmi cables and the other a surge protector from a frontage slickdeal) but they took about a month to be delivered. Their tracking will say a good estimated arrival date but that date keeps being pushed further and further. If you need cables ASAP then this is the wrong place.

I had a same exact experience. Bought 2 HDMI cables. Fedex took a long time to even pick up the order. And then the delivery date kept getting pushed back. When they finally arrived at the local distribution center, they inexplicably got shipped to the next state the following day. Only to be shipped back again. In all, it took over two weeks for the cables to arrive. We've been spoiled by Amazon overnight shipping. I kept wishing I had ordered cables from Amazon instead.

I have used these cables with multiple 2k computer monitors with great success

I also had an issue a few years back with video cutting out on a home theater receiver. I had to run cable length longer than spec. The receiver manufacturer told me that I was out of luck

Called Monoprice and they recommended cables with thicker wire and they did the trick

FYI, the 6 ft cable code only works for $28.47 minimum order price. OP might want to add this info to the post.

Edit: The above information is wrong. You have to add three single pack black cables instead of one 3 pack cables. Credit to user Wasajacob for informing me.

These cables should have HDMI certification, which means they were tested and given a certification scan logo

I don't trust their cables now either, my HDMI 4k kept dropping signal, then I forked over money for a rocketfish one and it's been fine since. That was years ago but yes I got to wondering if they really were properly tested.

Agree, but I buy their certified 8K HDMI 2.1 cables. They are independently certified by HDMI org. So I assume they are guaranteed as long as you don't get a ridiculous 25ft one.

Linus is an entertainer, nothing more, and making fake controversies is good for his bottom line.
